Well for instance flunking classes I don't see how that is any worse than publicly punching someone during a high school event. Look I can understand you are frustrated with this and want everyone to drop this but this is a big deal. A girl punches someone more than once and she is still on the team? How fair is that? Hence the topic of this. I respect you flounder don't mean any disrespect to you or DSJ. I would say this for any school.

I am not frustrated at all....I think the girl was punished enough considering she was not even whistled for the foul....and very few schools will kick the player off the team for flunking a class....usually something is worked out if the player has failed a class.....

Smoking, drinking, drugs and other serious issues warrant kicking a player....all of which I think are more serious than what the girl did......like I stated before....the game has really changed today.....I watched my Jays last night against a very good New Bremen team.....I witnessed more physical attacks in that game which were more serious than what this girl did......if the refs would make a statement and start calling the game the way it should be called, this type of thing would not happen.....not really blaming the officials, but if the refs continue to let them play, then the players will continue to exploit the officiating until they get caught.......remember this......this girl was not called for a foul in either instance........hell, our coaches did not even see what happened until they watched the film......one of 2 things here.....either the game is moving to fast for the officials or the officials just don't give a hoot and are showing up for the paycheck!!!!

Flounder, this is a strange thread. I have read most of this and I am reading that a girl struck two different girls in the face and one is considering assault charges. Being called or not called for a foul is irrelevent. This is the whackiest thing I have ever read. Did you see the game or the film, did she actually strike the other 2 girls...or not? I have never seen two factions so divided on what happened and what the punishment should have been.

I seen the new Knoxville she struck the other girl in the face knocking her down. But like flounder said it is what it is. I think most teams would not someone on their team after doing this at least 3 times but oh we'll I'm done.

She punched both girls. One in the left eye with a wind up. One in the temple with a wind up. As for a third girl I do not know. Let's hope the student who finishes behind the Val. Doesn't make her angry.

Well IMHO if she actually punched two girls in the face...........that is definately worse than a drag on a cigarette (and I have never smoked).

Why was the flagrant foul issued to the DSJ girl? For the punch or for what happened afterwards? If it was for the punch then how can the officials say they didn't see anything?

dogg79.....

Aren't your ties with Covington......if so, then why get involved with something you know very little about....and DSJ fans could care less if everyone remembers this for years.....we did the right thing.....oh, and what happened to all the talk about OHSAA getting involved......I guess they felt that we did the right thing also......please dogg79, get more involved with what is happening in your area, rather than venture up our way and act like you were in the middle of the situation!!!!

Flounder my dear old friend,

You are looking at this with a severe bias. What was done in those two games may be considered criminal acts on the street. What you saw in the boys game was physical rough play by boys with a sporting attitude. NOT EVEN COMPARABLE. Also, there are hundreds of games played in this area each week. Not once this year have I heard of someone getting punched......oh except the two we are discussing. By the way, I feel some action will be taken against one if not both referee crews. In their defense, it's a tough job. Kids are faster, bigger, and more physical than they were even 10 years ago in my opinion. In my opinion they don't get paid enough and the first time some idiot goes after one legally, you will be hard pressed to find any.

Yep....us DSJ people are some really wicked people........also, as for the people calling it a fist or punch....actually, on film you cannot tell if it was a fist....many feel it was a slap across the face.....and against NK, it was not a punch, so I feel many of you have not seen the film...and by the way..to my knowledge, not one complaint from NK...even though I thought that was actually worse.....you know, I have never defended the girl and her actions...I felt it was wrong....but what the hell do you people want from DSJ....I mean...would a pound of flesh satisfy you.......no bias in this school....just a lot of pride...which some people...like theDaaFan view as arrogance and continually verbally assaults anyone associated with the school.......hey, if it isn't LCC, it's DSJ, then who can he attack........like I said before, I am not frustrated or for that matter even pi$$ed off at anyone.......I never once defended the girl at issue, and realize that she made a mistake......oh heaven help the few in life that have never made a mistake....if you all feel it is still necessary to kick this dead cow, then continue on if it makes you feel good....and I know some of you will because of the private school issue....so have at it, but I am done trying to make people realize just what happens in today's world......oh, by the way....contrary to what many of you non DSJ people feel....I have not heard one of our own speak in favor of the girl involved....we didn't sweep it under the rug and confronted the situation!!!!

I am confused, you want me to provide you evidence of something the Cathloic church as already admited to. Google it.

No, I want you to provide me with evidence that it's not being handled. It's been handled better in the past eight years than most people realize, but because of the scope of the issue and the number of cases that are being dealt with, the process seems slow. Again, though, provide me with evidence or keep your thoughts to yourself.

Did these bad feelings really start on the soccer field? If so, blame soccer and the soccer officials for not cleaning it up there to begin with.

I hope you are joking, blame soccer officials? lol Even so if this girl played soccer and was doing something similar on the soccer field it's a joke to even think that she is still playing a sport. But oh well guess some schools just punish differently. I will stop complaining now.

The DSJ girl did not have any similar incidents on the soccer field.

There have been many things stated by posters on this topic that are so far from the truth yet so many feel certain that the punishment wasn't severe enough.......only in today's society!!!!

Typical rush to judgement syndrome, Hearsay and conjecture leading to cries for punishment, whether warranted or not. Or, assuming things about a situation that aren't entirely true.

The punishment for game one didnt happen. Therefore, game two punishment ended up being what game one should of been. If game one would of been a two game suspension, THEN game two punishment would of been removal from team, either by the school and/or ohsaa administered. I have the up most respect for DSJ. Still do. Just do try to minimize the severity of her actions by stating you have seen worse.....it only makes those outsiders think you are minimizing/justifying the behavior[WHICH I DONT THINK YOU ARE DOING] Its easy for us who dont know her to criticize when those who do love/like her for all the good she has shown for years in front of you [assumtion, but probably true]. Also, for your own good, DONOT lump yourself with other local private schools it will only hurt your credibility. LOL. By the way, I have viewed both films atleast 10+ times in real time and slow motion.

LJ.....

I understand...actually, I don't know the girl, but her good deeds at DSJ far exceed what she just went through......no foul was called in the NK game, and would have went unnoticed if not for the L'view game.....I think what is really sad about everything concerning the L'view game is the hush hush that happened after the game by the L'view fan....it actually made the accused player look like a choir boy......I always get a little chuckle watching grown adults who respond to actions that they feel were deplorable only to make themselves look worse by their own actions!!!!!
