Good luck Donny to your girls - I think you have your work cut out for you though. Arcadia is the best team in area this year (outside of Ottoville), and has the best player in NW Ohio not named Siefker. Man, she is the real deal and can win games all by herself. I don't think Carey can keep pace with Arcadia but time will tell. Would love to see Arcadia play Ottoville in Regionals - Arcadia has the type of team to give them fits (similar to us last year) - great guard play, good defensive pressure out top to keep it out of middle and great 3 pt shooting. No other team can chalk up a "W" when up 2-3 pts late - b/c no one can catch Palmer and when you do - she is money from FT line.

Will Arcadia win state? Probably not - but give them credit where credit is due. They have the best team in the BVC and that itself gives them a legit chance to make it far in tourney - see past winners. Ottoville is the best team in Ohio but lost their 2nd best player to a torn ACL so the door is open slightly and a team like Arcadia that shoots it lights out and has the best PG in NW Ohio just might have the team that can make it
happen. IF they make it out of sectional, I think they walk into Regionals b/c their district won't be as hard as their sectional.
Sorry CommonSense but why so bitter on a team like Arcadia that only has a team like this once in a great, great while? They beat us like a drum this year and I was the first to admit they are better than us - why can't you do the same?
No offense post but i don't think Arlington is that good this year. They have some bad losses one in particular was to Kenton who has had their share of getting pounded. I think Arcadia can make it to regionals but that's as far as they go. Even without that guard, Ottoville still beats Arcadia by double digits. It will take more than just Arcadia's best player to beat them as Ottoville will shut her down . Maybe if they can play out of their minds like Arlington did against them last year but who knows i doubt even that. I think the only team that can beat them in that regional is Crestview. But who knows sometimes all you need is just things to go your way and anything can happen.

Don't recall being bitter? They won the league fair and square, just curious about the state talk?? This is a team with basically 2 1/2 scorers, no bench and little height. They rely HEAVILY on one player. And by the way, Carey beat them this year, as did Ada and Leipsic, so they can lose games. The amazing thing about Arlington last year was the balance, they had 4-5 scorers, some bench help, and the Reamsnyder girl set the tone on defense for 32 minutes. Still, it took a late 3 by Hunter in the districts to propel them to state. Best of luck to them, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Yes they are in that Elida regional. I am not so sure about them though. One game that comes to mind is the Continental game. They beat them by 3. Which causes some conern because Continental is just your average team this year. Plus they got their doors blown off by Ottoville. The way their tournament run is set up they will have a match up with McComb in the disctrict semis and then if they win that, will play Leipsic in the finals. Which is interesting because the two play tomorrow night. I think Patrick Henry can get to regionals but don't see them getting past Ottoville/Crestview. But who knows that doesn't mean they can't if it is their night.

The history that I know of it is back in the later days they were called the Big Green Trojans. And the boys team they had were so tall so the local newspaper had put in the article claiming them as the "Big Green" so I guess it kind of just stuck with them? I could be wrong but that is what someone told me one time. So to answer your question it's a Trojan.

I am getting beat up for mentioning "state" in my post about Arcadia, apparently some read into posts what they want to hear. My intent was to wish them luck and to make the state tourney this year to keep it in the BVC - I was not alluding that I expected them to win state. They have a nice team for sure and they are real good at the guard position - a spot you have to be great at to win Regionals and State. They have the pieces - they may not get there, but they have the pieces to be a very tough out. Remember, DJ beat us 2 years ago with the best team Arlington has ever had in Regionals - with tremendous guard play (Klausing). Last year, we win state with an inferior offensive team, but tremendous defense and overall guard play beating Ottoville in Regional semi's (1 versus 2 in rankings).
Good luck to local teams this year - and of course, I hope that the state champs reside in the BVC or in NW Ohio again.

Kane - no offense taken. Thist year's team has overachieved and anyone that watches us would have to agree. We have very good coaching, a good tradition - both of which have led to some wins that most teams would not get with this talent. There have been very few wins this year where we had better talent on the floor. I give tremendous credit to our staff for getting 14 wins so far and beating some good teams this year we had no business beating.

Who we referring to here on "she's just a rookie"? I assume PG's coach? If so, I doubt she gets any breaks from us in the future...

Regardless, I think this could lead to some not-so-pretty games b/n both teams in the future or at minimum very competitive games to say the least
