You already illustrated to everyone on here that you associate voucher/non-voucher and Catholic/non-Catholic based on the color of the student athlete's skin. This fact alone displays the incredible amount of ignorance with which you post. You've also demonstrated how very little you know about LCC. Please, stop posting on this thread before you embarrass yourself further.

That is why no one brings it up because ethnicity is such a touchy subject I said nothing bad about either race simply stated facts. It is 2013 don't act like because I said "Majority of the basketball team are african american and the student body is not" that I am somehow racist that is literally a fact. I am comfortable discussing that because I hold no bias against anyone I am sorry you are not, it is simple demographics I know kids personally who were not excepted because of past incident they had at LCS and I know who kids who were that had much worse incidents but happen to be significantly better at a sport or 2. If you could show me a picture of a LCC team from the early 90s and then show me one from now the picture will look completely different another fact. But I will stop, since this is coming off as racist in some way to you guys. It is sad because it is all about money I'm sure if LCS could pick and chose their kids they wouldn't have the bad reputation that they do. Thankfully someone is willing to take the kids who probably don't have much at home either because god and everyone else knows that if a kid was kind of a trouble maker with below average grades and not a talented athlete LCC would not let him through their doors regardless of race. But keep patting your "catholic" school on the back they truly care that the kids better themselves I.E. Hodges kid I am certain no one from the school has since checked and made sure the kid is doing ok and is getting his life on track he no longer is an LCC athlete.

Look everyone, Ive been quiet ,I just so happy OSU4me, is looking stupid, it took awhile but its here....YOU GO dw....

Just a side note...Who will the newly baptized athletes at LCC wanna play for. Coops run oriented offense that showcases 2 kids..OR ...Fell's wide open spread offense that the kids who wanted a catholic education, might switch to a public school.

I never said or suggested you were racist. I said you equated African American to being non-catholic, a voucher student, and from LCS, which is simply not the case.

Also, until you walk the halls of LCC you have no idea who has been accepted into the school. There are plenty of kids (both vouchers and non vouchers) who don't have great grades and aren't involved in sports (although I would say most everyone is involved in something).

Finally, a couple of weeks ago LCC had an off night and there were more LCC fans at the perry game to watch Bruce than there were Perry fans. So quit with your uninformed assumptions.

If kids decide to go to LSH for any reason that's fine. I see no reason why they shouldn't or wouldn't if LCC or any other surrounding school doesn't provide a better situation for the individual student.

So I take that as a yes to my question, nice political answer though.

I'm not really sure what I would be saying "yes" to?

I said that I thought kids should go to LSH is if that's the school that provides the best opportunities in life for them. If that's "yes," then yes, my answer is "yes."

High school sports will not exist in City schools in 10 years. I suspect rural areas will hold out for at least 15-20 years. Everything will become AAU because schools will become tired of all the drama...players out of control, parents out of control, costs eventually overwhelming any revenue generated, public/private issues, recruiting, and this drive by the politicians to change schools. PEOPLE WAKE UP. Most schools in this area do a great academically and athletically. Politicians need to focus on the schools who are not performing. Maybe some parenting classes for those student bodies parents are in order instead of harassing good schools like the politicians are currently doing. Everything done today is lawyer driven. We will all long for the good old days quite soon.

Not a tough Question Lima Sr past 4 years: (5-35), LCC (42 -7) 9 playoff games 5 playoff wins the same number of total Lima Sr wins. So what is the question? winning program or LoSing program

I'm very happy for Coach Palte. If he was unable to continue at Grove, then a spot like LCC is good for him. There will be lots of top-end talent so he can demonstrate how good of a coach he is. I'm not sure everybody at Grove truly appreciated him.

Except Bruce hangs out with all of the LCC friends he had before he left and is very much a part of the community still. He just doesnt attend school there anymore because of a poor decision on his part. Dont assume no one cares about Bruce Hodges because he no longer attends LCC. Bruce and his father have a long tradition at the Lima Catholic schools, know your facts.

Also, just because a student is African American doesnt mean he cant be Catholic. This is the number one comment that people make and couldnt be more ignorant. I know several African American Catholics, I go to church with them, and I attended high school with several as well. Dont just assume someone cant be a Catholic because of the color of their skin or the part of the city they live in.

I dont think LCC could necessarily be considered as a "run oriented" offense. When Cooper first came to LCC that was more than a true statement. Two backs in the backfield every play, under center, and won a playoff game one year without passing the football once. However, since they changed the offense 6 years ago, this is no longer the case. Do they rush for more yards than they pass for, yes, of course. That can be said of about 75% of high school football teams. However, I would say the play calling there is pretty balanced in the new offense. They have thrown for around 2,000 yards 4 seasons in a row.

Also, to say it showcases one or two players automatically makes me think you havent watched many LCC games over the past several years. In 2010 when they went to the State Semis, you had O'Connor (QB) Krieg (WB) Johnson (WB) Royster & Washinton (FB) Stump (WR). That being said, if you check the stats, I would be willing to bet O'Connor threw for over 2,500 yards and rushed for over 500. Krieg scored somewhere in the mid 20's in TDs and they were both Rushing and Receiving. Johnson had over 400 yards rushing and probably another 400+ receiving and 10+ TDs. Royster and Washington were both over the 700 yard mark at FB and Stump easily had 700 yards receiving. I dont know where ONE OR TWO players is spotlighted?

Well said OSUFan512 I have seen many games and love the balance and the wide-open nature of the LCC offensive scheme. It seems to fit their personnel.

You now will have a stellar Defense, thanks to Coach Palte. ( I wonder how OSUforMe) feels about this, since she has taken shots at him in the past.

Columbus Grove's defense this year should be much improved too with Coach Snyder taking over the Defensive play calling. He has alot of experience and Grove should see a vast improvement this year on that side of the ball.

If anyone here thinks I have taken personal shots at a coach, I'm sorry for that. But the number of CG fans who do know me and are Facebook friends know I support a number of athletics playing for CG as well as the coaches.
