Good morning to all! We are back, LIVE from the Reese Center at Berlin Hiland High School for day 2 of the 10th annual Classic in the Country. Once again we have a stacked lineup. We have the #2 team in Divsion II and three of the top 10 teams in the state. For Division I, we have three of the top four teams in the state playing and four of the top nine. Throw in a senior from Memphis Central that is headed to Baylor and the crowds here will be quite entertained.

Once again, we'll be bringing you updates and various notes from today. If you need or want any other information, let us know!!

I'm here again today to do the color commentary as usual.........
the sights and sounds at the Classic in the Country is what keeps bringing us back
year after year.........this marks the Flounder & I's 6th foray to the CITC and I know I can
speak for both of us when I say that this is one of my favorite weekends of the entire year.....(next to Christmas and my birthday of course  )

Even though Muva is saying she's not responsible for the music selections, whoever is in charge this morning gets a tip of the RM's cap....
Last night after stopping off at Mr. Tom Jenkins home for a little R&R after the long day, we ended up at a little bar in Millersburg named Bags...

The place was crowded right up until closing time and as usual I met some very unique individuals ;) ......two young ladies (one who graduated from
Hiland and the other from W. Holmes.....no love lost between these two schools I've been told) who entertained us with stories about the Amish life
here in Holmes Co......verry entertaining indeed!.......both Flounder and i thank you for a great evening.....

Also a couple of gentlemen who professed to be professional referees :whistling: ....they had done the Hiland/Damascus Md. game earlier and were directed
to Bags by people who knew that Flounder and I would most likely be holding court as usual.......We learned a little more about "Rumspringa" and all the
things that the Amish youth are/aren't allowed to do during this very important time of their lives......Wikipedia describes "Rumspringa" as a period of adolescence for some members of the Amish community during which a youth temporarily leaves the community to experience life in the outside world. The Amish, a subsect of the Anabaptist Christian movement, intentionally segregate themselves from other communities as a part of their faith. The Rumspringa normally begins around the age of 14 to 16 and ends when a youth chooses baptism within the Amish church or instead leaves the community. The vast majority choose baptism and remain in the church. Not all Amish use this term but in sects that do, Amish elders generally view it as a time for courtship and finding a spouse.

One of the young ladies also had a boyfriend with her who also gave us a little more insight into the Amish way.......now mind you, he had much more to drink
than either of us at this time  .........he alluded to a very secretive term that they call these Amish who, after deciding that they rather enjoy the "Rumspringa" way of life and decide for one reason or another NOT to return............."Buffers".....as the day goes on here at the CITC I will try to find out even more about this term..........have a great day RM

And about 90% of those "Amish" shown on Amish Mafia were never baptized but still call themselves Amish and live in the community. Even though they are crazy to the civilized American eye!

Ok........to wake up those of you who are just getting around for the day

Ready to Go
Republica

You're weird, in tears, too near and too far away,
He said, saw red, went home stayed in bed all day,
Your t'shirt, dish dirt,
Always love the one you hurt

It's a crack, I'm back yeah standing
On the rooftops shouting out,
Baby I'm ready to go
I'm back and ready to go
From the rooftops shout it out
It's a crack, I'm back yeah standing
On the rooftops having it
Baby I'm ready to go
I'm back and ready to go
From the rooftops shout it out, shout it out

You sleep, too deep, one week is another world
Big mouth, big mouth, drop out, drop out

You get what you deserve
You're stange, insane, one thing you can never change

It's a crack, I'm back yeah standing
On the rooftops shouting out,
Baby I'm ready to go
I'm back and ready to go
From the rooftops shout it out
It's a crack, I'm back yeah standing
On the rooftops having it
Baby I'm ready to go

Midpark is led by Stasha Carey.

A quick 3-pointer by 5'9'' senior Korie Maryo gets Midpark on the board. Withrow turnover and Maryo nails another 3-pointer, followed by another Withrow turnover. We have a decent crowd here but most of the fans on the visitor's side of the gym are wearing the Clyde blue, who plays next.

Huey scores down low for Withrow but Carey responds for Midpark and she's fouled! She misses but gets her own offensive rebound. She drives and is fouled again! She'll get two more free throw attempts. She misses the first but makes the second one.

Midpark taking it to Withrow early. Midpark must've gotten filled up with energy at Burger King this morning just as I arrived. I did rub elbows with Memphis Central's players. Carey scores again for midpark but 5'7'' Xasha Cohen nails a 3-pointer for Midpark, quickly answered by Carey.

Last night the entire Berlin area lost power due to a tree limb knocking out a major powerline
leading into town........

alarm clocks not working, coffee makers not percolating, and hot water heaters in the motel not heating
all might have led to a very lethargic start to today's contest......

but never fear, the Flounder and I have contracted with a local farmer who will be able to provide us
with methane gas that we can use should the power go out again :coffee:

I do note that I took Withrow in this game while the Weatherman took Midpark. I also note that Withrow has just seven girls dressed for play today.

Withrow ball under their own bucket. A couple of misses but Huey grabs it, puts it in and she's fouled! She makes it and Williams grabs a steal! She misses the lay-up! And despite seemingly controlling the whole quarter, Midpark's lead is just four points after one quarter.

Midpark: 17
Cincinnati Withrow: 13

Smooth
Santana Feat

Man it's a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
Well I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My mu equita my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
You're my reason for reason
The step in my groove
Yea

And if you say, "This life ain't good enough"
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
'Cause you're so smooth

And it's just like the ocean under the moon
Well it's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
Gimme your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it
