Haha. I'm obviously biased, but sidney is an infinitely better site for playoffs to wapak. Parking, stadium itself, proximity to I75.

Wapak's stadium isn't more than 4-5 minutes off of I-75....not sure how that makes "proximity to I-75" an issue....lol

It isn't, the issue I think lies in space around the stadium. I personally prefer to watch a game at Sidney because it feels roomier, but that's my opinion.

I guess I didn't mean proximity as saying Wapak's field isn't close, I was just giving the positive attributes of Sidney.

Sidney also has the head ref wired for sound over the PA system which is a nice feature as well.

Yippee skippy....any PA announcer worth his salt knows what the signals mean.

Good for Sidney, but doubt they will get as many playoff games as some think. The state loves Piqua and Lima Senior venues. Plus Lima Senior is doing some renovations this off season that will make it even better.

But Sidney may take Wapak's playoff games away from them

It's just about to the point that putting in turf to get multiple playoff games is a waste of time and money.

True, they could do that...But I don't think the state will have Marion Local and Delphos St. John's meet in Sidney instead of Wapak or Lima for example. Just doesn't make since to have them drive further south. Sidney is to close to Piqua. There are a lot of turf fields that go unused during the playoffs because of location. Plus the state likes using familiar sites because the schools are used to hosting. A lot of work goes into hosting games.

sidney will easily take games from Wapak...im sure state officials have been to those MAC games at Wapak and seen people lined up on fense 2 rows deep with no room to sit...plus the horrid parking.. i think sidney could easily host thoses games...and they have hosted in the past before state went to all turf rule...Sidney will no doubt have many games in its future with turf being put in

Pretty sure Sidney has been in contacted and coached by the OHSAA on what to do and how to do it to obtain playoff games. Wapak has a nice facility but Sidneys is no doubt better. Lima Senior locating is not the greatest in terms of safety.

Been to many many games at lima stadium over the last 25 years.... never had a problem. Anything particular you'd care to bring up?

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the seating capacity of Harmon Field in Wapak is? Sidney can hold 7,000.

Heard last Friday on Koza's show that Lima Senior is planning a 1.8 million dollar renovation of the home side at Lima Senior Stadium.
The Athletic Director did say that they had not raised the money yet, but it sounded like they had hand shake agreements for
some private donations. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also listened to Koza and apparently Lima Senior has $800,000 in building funds left over that they'll use for the stadium project. There was also some other money they had already but I don't remember what fund it came from. And they were also seeking donations.

Here is another local field to add into the mix next fall:

To far off of 75 for most games in the NW/West Central Ohio I would guess, but may pick up a couple games as the article states.

Sidney may get games from Wapak because of seating and or parking issues. I've been going to playoff games at Lima Stadium every year since the state started using it. Never had an issue or anything remotely close to an issue. Lima staff are great hosts and atmosphere is good for games. If there were issues the state wouldn't chose them host games ever year. Sometimes 2 per weekend. Lima is also big enough to host higher division games. They've hosted from D2 on down.

No idea. Have nothing to do with LS. Just attend games there . Was simply stating that I have never had one issue with safety while walking to and from L.S .

Agreed nor have I. There are nicer parts of Lima the stadium could be in I suppose, but it's not as though I've ever felt unsafe going to a game there.
