Great ball game! I am not a fan of either team, but that was the best $9 I've spent in a long time! Good Luck Panthers.

Did DSJ have more passing yards than rushing yards? Seemed so. McComb did a great job of stopping Jettinghoff

Very good game. Congrats to McComb. Brown is a beast on defense, I'm guessing he was in on about 30 tackles.

Right as I made the comment that Brown wasn't having a great ball game defensively (2 missed tackles on big plays), he goes and makes a huge INT. Big players make big plays. He certainly lived up to his hype

WOW WHAT A GAME!!! GO BVC!!! This was hands down the best playoff game I have ever had the opportunity to attend. Delphos had McComb on the ropes in what was, for the most part, a hard hitting defensive struggle. McComb gave up huge plays on 3rd and long which was the difference on the scoreboard when they were down 21-7 in the second half. There were some very questionable coaching calls on a 4th and 4 in their own territory and going for 2 in the 4th quarter instead of kicking the PAT for the tie, but in the end they didnt cost them the win. The officiating almost cost them the game with a no call on a block in the back on a long DSJ run, and a celebration call on the go ahead score. Overall though, it was a great game to watch. The 4th quarter should be an ESPN Classics reel. Delphos has nothing to hang their heads about. They played their hearts out and left it all on the field. McComb's speed and defensive toughness proved to be the difference. Other than the big plays on 3rd and long, they held the Jays firmly for the entire game and when it mattered most they came up with the big play. Grats to the Panthers on a helluva victory, and grats to the BVC for showing what we are made of!!

I thought I heard on radio Panthers held DSJ to 54 yards rushing?

I thought the officiating was good overall. One or two bleh calls. Other than that, it was good.

Agreed. A few bleh calls on both sides. Evilscotsman forgot to mention the questionable TD call on the dive/fumble by brown to make it 20-21. FWIW, I think it was a fumble. But I sure am glad they don't have review in HS football

Definitely one of the bleh calls. We didn't know what had happened in the stands. We were almost dumbfounded.

Yeah the DSJ side didn't have a great view of it. The McComb side had quite the view. I really thought he dropped it around the one yard hash mark....Game of inches though!

This was one for the record books! One of the best high school football games, if not the best high school football game i have ever seen. Both teams wanted to win this game. Big time players make big time plays when the game is on the line, Jerry Brown really pulled through when it mattered most. Congratulations to the McComb Panthers. BVC football was well represented against the always game Delphos St. Johns.

Jerry Brown "did work" in the final quarter. St. John's had some costly turnovers including the INT by Brown that set up the game winner and then the fumble in McComb territory with under 50 seconds remaining down 7. Happy for McComb and the BVC

So we might see BVC vs MAC in the DVI and DV state semis?

Brown did not have the ball when he dove in. I have a picture of it...its not entirely in focus but it clearly shows the ball hitting the pylon without a hand attached.

Great game...hope I got some good pics. We will see tomorrow when I download them. Good night.

Also can't help but feel sorry for #28 on DSJ. A senior and tore his ACL in the first quarter.

per the Lima News:

DSJ had 228 yards passing and 55 yards rushing. When was the last time DSJ had more passing than rushing!?
