TBH, the difference between MAC and BVC isn't that the MAC necessarily produces better teams in playoffs, but that those teams are playing 5-7 playoff quality teams throughout the regular season and they are ALWAYS better prepared for playoffs. Where as, McComb or Leipsic or even LB play 1, MAYBE 2 good teams throughout the year and sometimes these games are at the beginning of the season. It's hard to beat good teams when your last 5 games going into playoffs are wins by 50+. Luckily for McComb, they played Leipsic week 10.

Jesus, even in a loss, you are touting the SOS myth. :shrug2: Hartley played a pretty mediocre schedule from my view, and they won. Norwayne played a cupcake schedule last year and won state. The list is endless. McComb(and almost Leipsic) won because they had the better team....period. The schedule is irrelevant. Glenville plays cupcake city, but they have built that program up to be relevant in the state. Colerain doesn't play in the GCL, but does a hell of a job in their own right.

If anybody wants to talk schedules: McComb played, and beat Tiffin Calvert, Liberty Benton (who is still playing), Leipsic and Arlington. That's 4 playoff teams. Not too bad.

If that's the case, then why does the MAC chant the "M-A-C" after beating every non-MAC team they play regardless of how good or bad they are?

Personally, yes, because it's disrespectful to your own team's work.

Aside from that matter, the real question is why does it bother any of DSJ/MAC fans if that is the case?

BTW, I loved the DSJ fan in the stands last night yelling "Jerry Brown again "Jerry Brown isnt going to throw, hes got his gloves on" and BAM Brown hit a deep ball on one of the drives as they were moving towards the scoreboard side endzone lol.

1 player does not a team make. I think it will become clear next Friday.

Did you say Kevin Mangas......no wonder the call went the way it did....I will not say another word, but Kevin 'Goose' Mangas has been involved with some very interesting calls over the years with DSJ......not just football......but, I still will not take away from McComb's victory.....they played better than the Jays, and still deserved the win.......just horrible to see that ball hitting the pylon with no one in possession!!!!!!!!
Yes it was "ole goose" He made the call( also the back judge ) "where the picture was taken from " " who was farther away and had THE BIGGER picture" missed it to. Everyone standing in that end zone knew it was a fumble. By rule it was a touch back. He fumbled it through the end zone NOT out of bounce. Can't wait for the next meeting to hear this excuse. Denny Morris should be proud of his two prodigies. Regional final "the cream of the crop". By definition in this area are " those who can't breath out there nose ". I dont care who won. This was a inexcusable call for any game. If this would have been a " normal official " ie. one who can breath out his nose and mouth. WOW. Politics Politics.

Probably one of the best posts on this thread, and this game certainly shows it. You have a 12-0 McComb team down 21-7 to a 6-4 DSJ team. McComb then plays a great 4th quarter and wins it. By record, you think DSJ is going to pull an upset, but the strength of that DSJ schedule makes that record look very deceiving. While McComb is rolling it up on Arcadia, Hardin Northern and Vanlue, DSJ is pounding week after week with Minster, Coldwater and Marion Local.

You really have to feel for the Boggs kid, he played a great game last night, until the poor decision to throw the ball that Brown Intercepted. That play really turned the momentum of the game.

I certainly don't fault Coach Alge for going for it at different times during the game. This is a program that has produced a juggernaut offensively and a 4th and 2 (not 4) is very makeable. And anyone who would not go for 2 from the 1 1/2 yard line (after the penalty) is crazy. That said, DSJ was basically one first down from running the clock out. DSJ had the ball with 4 minutes left and McComb had 1 time out.

Its not in focus but clearly shows the ball hitting the pylon without a hand attached.
OOPS, glad they don't have replay in high school...

Also, maybe one of the best catches, especially in the moment, you'll ever see at the high school level.

I can't believe I'm even getting in to this conversation, but how exactly is it that you DSJ people seem to know all these referees by name?
