Bingo. The way he handles the issues, both large and small, irks me to no end. As for the ones I've mentioned, which are the primary ones I fight for, Obama will have the chance to shape the makeup of the courts for years to come with his judicial appointments, and that's not a good thing for pro-life gun owners like myself. That, and his Attorney General will try to ram through some anti-gun crap. I wouldn't be surprised to see some states get so fed up with the way Obama handles things that they look for a way to impeach him or secede and start another Civil War. That's the way we're heading.

What is it with you rural people and your guns? Hell, I own 4 guns and previously owned more. Sure, I'll be selling them next spring sometime, as I have absolutely no use for a gun anymore and don't target shoot in Columbus obviously, but I have nothing to necessitate the use of owning one any longer. Even if I did, nobody is beating on my door at gunpoint telling me I have to hand them over even though some of you live in the NRA dream world fallacy that they are. It's almost like there is a severe mental disorder with some of these people to brainwash you into thinking that somehow your "2nd amendment rights" are being violated in prepping for the governmental apocalypse where the government will kill you all once your "defenseless".

IT'S A FRICKEN GUN!!!...a gun...a material object....that you still own.

.....yet we are wasting valuable time complaining over material objects in a meaningless debate, mostly based on the NRA's brainwashing, that they have perpetrated since the dawn of time, and have instead decided that it's somehow a B-line issue for the Presidency in the US. The NRA would be pushing this issue even if China was engaged in mass genocide of americans or if an outbreak of 1000 tornadoes wiped out half of the US. They are nutjobs. :shrug2: :coffee:

I don't know if that was me or not, but I'm not about to go against the tenets of my faith just because you claim I'm stuck in the 19th Century. I believe in the Sacrament of Marriage as God meant it to be, not man.

I really don't care about the homosexual issue either way. Do I think it's a mental issue even though they took it out of the DSM?...yea, but I'm not against it, nor do I care what homosexuals do. I don't shun them, I don't deny them, and I give them their freedom to do whatever here in Columbus and elsewhere.

While you have your viewpoints, I just can't stand how it's all on the basis of once again....your religion(Although it's more like the Dark Ages than the 19th century ;)) . I about puke every time I have to go through Delphos and see the "Protect Religious Freedom" signs in Delphos, especially after viewing what their stance REALLY is. They are extremists in every facet of the imagination and are right on the borderline of those that took part in Positive Christianity in Nazi Germany or Islamists in various parts of the Middle East in how extreme they are. I would really love to see that statement of "Protect Religious Freedom" if you had a whole bunch of Muslims or Atheists come into town...I would love to see the hypocritical reaction to that. What it should read is "Protect Freedom".

What's happening on the RC lately? BlueJay and Bucki seeing eye to eye??

In all seriousness, the idea that religion and government should be intertwined is idiotic. Just because you believe one thing does not mean that a nation of 300 million people should always agree with it. This country was founded on the freedom to choose your own religion and not be controlled by a monarch/leader/etc and that is what a lot of the religious Right thinks. I am a Catholic and I am proud to have faith in God, but I do not and I will probably not see eye to eye with them on the subjects of ga.y marriage and abortion. That's just the way it is.

As for gun laws, I believe people have the right to bear arms, just as it says in the Constitution. However, I see no use for automatic or semi-automatic weapons being available to the public. Any kind of machine gun has no purpose, IMO, outside of military use.

However, I think charliesheen hit it on the nose (no pun intended). People use Obama or any other president as the focal point for debate and say that he is the one dividing the country and that replacing him would somehow fix the problem. Our voters nationwide showed that they don't even know what the problem is. Nothing changed in the Senate or House of Representatives. Nothing! The 10% approval rating didn't sway anyone's mind into actually enacting change? That's what makes me sick about this country, not our "socialist" president (don't get me started on that), not our fragile economy. This. The fact that people are quick to piss and moan about how they hate our partisan Congress but don't do a thing to fix it.

Only so many white males in this country and the diversity in this country is growing. President Obama(at least respect the position) won the election because he received the majority of the non-white voters. And if this continues, the GOP is going to suffer, they have little diversity in their party and their arrogance got them again.

Granted, both candidates are losers that weren't going to change anything, but conservatives really erg me. The only crowd that backs them is the rural group and of that group it's stratified into the religious psychopath type with most of the NRA brainwashed people. After that, they have who?.....nobody. The fact of the matter is the educated, non-racist, and non-religious/non psychopath religious won't touch them with a 10 foot pole, which is why the better educated, better financed, and less extremist northeast and cities of the US are the ones that support Obama.

And no I'm not a democrat and no I don't care the least bit about politics. That's just the fact of the matter based on the stats and common knowledge.

Was there an election or something that I missed? I just figured that all those Obama bumper stickers - much like some sort of radio station - were included as part of some government promotion where if a public official saw you sporting your Obama bumper sticker, you'd win an increase in your welfare. That, or they were simply necessary as a cheap form of auto mobile repair...

I'm Catholic. I'm a Republican.

I don't care if Homer Sexuals get married. That's their choice. It's not recognized by the church so no big deal.

Abortion bothers me. A lot. In the marriage issue, no one else is effected. In abortion, there's innocent LIFE being taken.

And for you guys to tell me that I can't vote for someone based on their religious views and beliefs is wrong. Abortion doesn't have to be a religious decision. A fetus is a living person. If scientist found a single cell on Mars, they'd be saying there's life on Mars. Life is a single cell. Nothing religious about it. It's life at conception. With that said, I'm not opposed to certain circumstances for abortion. How that's defined is up for debate. Rape is one. The religious side of me opposes it, but under legal terms there's an argument for it. But to use it as a form of Plan C Birth Control is wrong no matter how you try to defend it.

HA! You can leave better educated and better financed out of your argument. Youngstown/Cleveland/Akron or New Bremen/Minster/Versailles? And I prefer people who stand up for their beliefs over the apathetic people in the cities.

HAHAHA What? I'm pretty sure they would say that there is evidence that AT ONE TIME, there was sustainable life on Mars, not that there IS life on Mars currently.

While the decision of abortion is not ENTIRELY a religious one, it's the overwhelming majority of the reasoning for it. What I love is the absolute irony of the psycho religious claiming that rape is a viable reason for an abortion, but anything else is not. Well it's lovely to know that your "book" let's you pick and choose who deserves to die and who doesn't if that's the case of the "innocent" child.

I'm not going to even get into any more detail about it, because it's just endless banter of circular logic that never ends and gets nowhere in a time where there are far more important things to deal with than abortions.

Sorry - If scientists found a LIVING cell on Mars...

And leave the "book" out of the discussion. Now you're the one trying to make it religious.

You prefer to stand up for people for their beliefs?...sounds like a good idea. You should join up with these people. They feel very strongly about their beliefs being involved in their government as well.

And don't even begin to challenge me on the idea that because you find a rural outlier of a place like New Bremen, that it is somehow still topping the wealthy and educated of a place like Columbus. Do not even start....you are bringing a cup of milk to a nuclear bomb fight. Interesting how the less educated southeast voted for Romney almost exclusively outside of the more educated and higher median income northeast. I would say the sample size is a little larger and more accurate. It's also interesting how Allen County, even with the high minority % of Lima, still had an easy Romney victory. Now let's compare that to counties housing Columbus, Toledo, Cincy, Cleveland, Youngstown, Athens, and so forth?....notice a trend?.....all higher median income, better educated, and collegiate based locations....all voted for Obama.

When people use research and logic, they are generally more successful and it's usually based off of their education level. Interesting how the lesser educated, lower median income, and overly religious rural areas in the US voted for Romney instead.

The best part is that I'm not even an Obama supporter. That's just the fact of the matter based on stats and common sense.

More wealthy?
Columbus - The median income for a household in the city was $37,897, and the median income for a family was $47,391.
New Bremen - The median income for a household in the village was $51,643, and the median income for a family was $61,011.

There's one fact where you're wrong. You and your facts. Seriously flawed. You just like to sound smart and you do a terrible job at that.
