I love how any time that somebody makes a claim that somebody might beat DSJ, it's ultimately somebody just being jealous. How dare they!

The fact of the matter is Leipsic has a nice team this year and lost to 2 good teams in LB and McComb in close games. Leipsic nearly beat and very easily COULD HAVE won last year vs. DSJ last year....a DSJ team that in my opinion was a better team than the team this year. Put 2 and 2 together. You make it sound like it's some out of this world selection when anybody picks a team over DSJ or any other MAC school for that matter. :pav:
You make it seem like DSJ lost to some horrible teams...the teams DSJ lost to were a combined 36-4. And yes Leipsic could have won last year..but that team pretty much pooped out it seemed like whenever they were inside the 20.

Your quote from another site (http://www.buckeyepl...ic-central.html):

Quote

as much as i would love to see steubenville win this one im thinking DSJ has the advantage. to be honest i am surprised how down D6 has been of lately if this small DSJ squad is able to make it this far. the non playoff DSJ team last year would of trounced this years team but nonetheless they are there. i would like to see SCC win but prolly wont happen.

Delphos 28
SCC 14

It seems like whenever DSJ is in it, you seem to say D6 is "down." When DSJ manhandled everyone in 2010, D6 was down. DSJ is in the running again this year...and D6 is "down."

The reason I suspect jealousy on your point is because of the quote above. "As much as I would like to see Steubenville win. (...) I would like to see SCC win." Add that to the 23485743895734 backhanded compliments and snide remarks you have made about DSJ and it all adds up to one thing: jealousy.

It's readily apparent to anybody that has watched DSJ this year, that they are not as good as the team they had last year. Neither is Marion Local....neither is LCC. I mean I don't know what you are expecting me to say?...Do you want me to lie to you to make yourself feel better or what? Who they have played is irrelevant. We all know Coldwater is great team. They are a better team this year than last and they crushed DSJ...this Coldwater team would have still crushed DSJ's better team last year, so I really don't know exactly what you are referring to.

In 2010, I can go back and find quotes where I said towards the end of the season, that the 2010 DSJ team was arguably the best DSJ team that they have ever had based simply on how big and fundamentally sound their offensive line and LB core was and I think even you or some of the other DSJ posters were the ones that disagreed with me and claimed one of the Whiting teams were better.

If you think D6 in 2010 was not weak, I'd love for you to find me a weaker year. I already told you I thought the 2010 DSJ team was the best they had ever had, but they obviously had the easiest path getting there(not that it probably would have changed the result) when you end with a Shadyside team that DSJ's junior high team would destroy. :shrug2:

D6 has been down for a while now and some of that is due to teams moving into D5, and other parts are because traditionally good teams like Newark Catholic have not been good for quite some time(aside from their blip on the radar state title year). Hardin Northern isn't there, Columbus Grove isn't there, Loudon isn't there, and in some of those years, even Marion Local and St Henry were not there. I don't think it's a blanket statement to say D6 has been weaker in recent years. If it's any consolation to you, I think this year D6 is better than it's been the past couple years.

should be a good rematch ..steve wiener and mark factor bring the game on zsportslive.com or on your smart devices thru tunein.com 7pm kick off. Leipsic had lost two close ones in a row, but should get back on track this week.

I think D6 is down......can hardly wait until we have 7 divisions...only in Ohio.....

As for this game, as much as I hate to say this, I would not be surprised if Leipsic pulls this off.....I don't care what the Leipsic faithful on this board say......I know quite a few Leipsic natives and they are looking forward to this rematch.....and are pretty confident about it....Jays have 5 turnovers like they did against Minster, and they stand no chance.......I wish the Jays luck, but feel it will be a uphill battle!!!!

I think Leipsic gets revenge on last year's game in a game they could have very easily won. Even though Leipsic lost to LB and McComb, they were both close games, and I still have them as my D6 pick for state. If not them, then possibly McComb.

DSJ surely won't make it easy on them though. DSJ can win the game if they just don't turn the ball over and are mildly successful through the air.

No, I don't know who you are picking!!!!!

There may be a few overzealous fans, but personally i was rooting for a Leipsic/ Ottawa Hills week 1 matchup

LOL at the plain dealer picking the Arlington over McComb as their upset special http://highschoolspo...012-postseason/
This. Did they even look at previous games? Or the fact that they don't have McComb as even having a chance, or Brown as an impact player. But then they have zanesville and fairview as having chances.

I don't think so. I think they approached PH but that didn't work out. I think they had planned to roll the field this week and go with it.

Although DSJ has some losses this year and they may be down, I feel Leipsic is significantly down from last year too. They lost a heck of a senior class, including some key lineman from last year's team. Kuhlman will have to be a lot sharper than he's been the last two weeks.

Completely agree that Kuhlman will have to be sharper this week, hopefully the rain holds off to aide him in that.

Aside from the line though, who are the key players you think Leipsic has lost that haven't been adequately filled?

Schroeder... Brady and the other one that was hurt. Both could pound it out against teams like DSJ and McComb and LB. Chamberlin and Schnipke are two different backs, but both won't get the job done the same as last year's. other than that, it really is just the line, but JUST THE LINE is what you need to beat these top tier teams. Defense is strong led by BVC DPOY Austin Brown. However, the offense is VERY shaky, seems like they go from rolling along to non existent really fast, expecially against LB

It just seemed like Leipsic had more playmakers and were a little stouter up front last year. Maybe it's just been the weather the last few weeks, but they've become very one dimentional. I just think DSJ has more, more experience, tougher competition to get them ready for this.

I have a feeling you haven't been to many... if any Leipsic games this year Bum. First off, I never denied that the line isn't a big deal, so I'm not sure why you're trying to make it sound like I am.

And Chamberlain and Schnipke HAVE been getting the job done all year, so I'm not sure what you're referring to with that post. Of course Schnipke doesn't break for long runs, that's not the kind of back he is, but I enjoy it every time he runs a defender over. Chamberlin is EXACTLY the opposite. He's not running anyone over, but if he gets an open field. look out. Leipsic is good in the air, that's what killed us the last 2 games. Not sure if it was the rain or what, but Kuhlman just wan't on these past 2 games. I know it was stiffer competition and both games came down to literally 1 posession, one a missed FG even. Both games could have gone either way.

I honestly believe that as long as the rain holds off Leipsic will take this game.

I somewhat believe the last line. But, I have been to two games this year. The ONLY two real games on Leipsic's schedule, and coincidentally the only two they have lost. Of course the backs are gonna play big against the Vanlues, Hardin Northerns, etc. But, my point is, when the game counts, they are one dimensional as common sense said. They better find another dimension in practice tomorrow.

Trevor Schroeder was the other back from last year. Very very very tough runner. Short, low center of gravity, hard runner, never stops his feet. It is also a little easier to run when you have people like Josh Turnwald and Ross Benton blocking for you

How is DSJ's RB who didn't play in the OT in the Minster game. Doesn't he get at least 20 touches a game?

I agree with DSJ having the tougher schedule to get the ready for big games. I also believe, however, that even with the past 2 weeks being losses the tough games couldn't have come at a better time for Leipsic. The coaches can't really make worthwhile adjustments against teams that are mediocre at best. Having 2 tough games in a row gives the coaches something to actually go off of as far as adjustments and tough games go.

I guess that's why I feel as though Leipsic's week 9 and week 10 games are more of an advantage to them rather than a hindrance even though they were losses.

I am hoping to make this game! Might be there a little late but I plan to show up. Haven't made it to any games this year but I have followed online. I of course am rooting for the Vikings. Always have and always will. Lets just hope the rain clears out and it is a decent night for football.
