Lima is dead in my opinion. While all of what you guys said is true, it ultimately comes down to a people and community deal, and Lima just doesn't have that, where as Columbus and currently Cincy is gaining. Without personal or community initiatives to get things going, nothing is ever going to occur and as low income and dead as Lima is in terms of business and just personal drive to initiate a change, I don't ever see that changing and expect the population to continue to drop as the years go on.
within the past couple of years the following has been brought to Lima or improved in Lima.
Restaraunts: Chipotle, Tim Horton's/Coldstone, Panera Breads (even rebuilding one), Five Guys, Donatos, New Arby's, New Pizza Hut, 2 Japanese Steakhouses, 2 J's Sports Pubs
Shopping: Dunham's, whatever the new grocery store is, 2nd brand new Wal-Mart, Mall is filled, JcPenney and Kohl's re done
Manufacturing: Kettle Creations (bought out by Bob Evans), new offices and storehouses for INEOS, Potash, and Husky.
Downtown: Fat Cat Diner, The Met, Pears Avenue, Vivace
Car Dealers: Reineke Ford being upgraded, Reineke Nissan/Mazda being upgraded, Lima Auto Mall was upgraded, Taylor Kia came to town, Tom Ahl update all 3 facilities.
...seems like Lima might be on a different path then what you believe...
