Coop and LCC recruit. Doesn't count. Fell is better, Ada's players are home grown.

Didn't a HN player transfer to Ada last season to play WR and basketball?

Didn't LCC try to recruit Zac Dysert going into high school. Heath Jackson, Kyle Baker to name a few more. Bobby was a rare occasion to go to a good team because Hardin Northern had no chance in basketball. That's why he came here, to get recruited in basketball for college. He played football to be with his friends. He also grew up with Ada students (Quaterback Konnor Baker).

Irrelevant. Ada received a better player from another school. Reasoning doesn't really matter why. I'm sure LCC also "just has kids wanting to get recruited." What's the difference between a Lima Senior kid going to LCC and Ada last year?
Secondly, switching schools for basketball recruiting isn't really needed. Majority of recruiting is done through the AAU circuit now. Football is the lone major sport still without a travel league, therefore switching schools for college recognition is still needed. Basketball is not (Vanlue got players recruited to DI) ... However, separate thread topic there.
I'm just saying to not call out one school for doing it when your own program just benefitted from it.

Coop wasn't even at LCC when Dysert was going into high school. But to answer your question, your first 2 sentences are incorrect. Stop posting during school.

I'd be willing to bet there is a higher percentage of kids actually from LIMA on the LIMA Central Catholic football team than at any point in the last 20 years.

But there is a difference between the head coaches talking a kid into tranferring, where as Ada had nothing to do with Bobby Steiner coming to Ada he was friends already with several kids from there.

Again. I will ask a question. When has a head coach from Lima Central Catholic ever sought out a kid to convince them to transfer to the school, and in particular for football since that was the claim in here? If this has happened, send the evidence to the OHSAA so they can look into it!! Please!

I just started cracking up when I read this. Too funny!! "He was friends already with several kids from there." Oh, well in that case...

Bobby Steiner didn't even play football for Ada during the regular season. He was only allowed playing during the post season when Ada was in the play offs.. And I believe he rarely got in? How is that considered recruiting on Ada's part? Just a question.

I don't think anyone here is claiming Ada recruits. Just pointing out the ridiculousness of a poster from Ada (who has also gained from kids transferring in) saying that LCC is effectively cheating when kids transfer there, and in turn saying that Ada's transfers don't count because the kid already had friends at Ada.

Not trying to start a big thread on it though because I know both schools do not recruit athletes.

As bulldog fan correctly stated Steiner did not become eligible to play until after week ten of the football season last year. To my knowledge he did not even play in a game. From the sound of things the criticism is valid for basketball. Personally, I am disappointed Lima Central Catholic is in their last year of membership in the NWC. I have nothing but respect for their sports programs and academics and wish them the best in the future.

Coach Cooper and Coach Fell both do an excellent job, The majority of area schools would be lucky to have either heading their program. In conclusion, this thread has taken a negative tone as a result of many new posters, likely students who have made this into an Ada/ LCC debate. Each has a lot of work in the coming weeks to get to that traditional week ten showdown. It is my hope that a more civilized debate will form, not about rumors of recruting and whose coach is better but a mutual respect for two of the best small school programs in Ohio.

I would really be interested to see how many of those people are actually practicing catholics.

Probably not an overwhelming percentage. That's never been a requirement to attend/teach/volunteer/etc. at the school. I don't really find that to be relevant though, especially in the context of the "homegrown" discussion (which is a stupid discussion in and of itself).

There are a lot more differences between a private school and public school than just the 45 minutes per day in religion class and the weekly masses. That's a discussion for a different time though. Not one to be had on this Ada thread.
