Per Joey Eitel's week 6 updates.......there are only 6 of the 30 teams in region 22 that are "above" .500

R22 is the easiest region in the entire state to get in to. The cutoff to get in will probably only be around 9.5, which is low enough that you could have 4 wins and a some 2nd level points and it's enough to get you in. Teams that play bigger schedules with 2nd level points could even make it in with 3 wins hypothetically.

True, but outside of DSJ, McComb, and Leipsic in R22, those teams would get beat by the Mogadores, Malverns, and Newark Catholics of those regions. Either way, it's a piece of cake to get in to the playoffs...after that...well it gets just a bit tougher.

Mogadore, Shadyside, Leipsic, McComb, and Ada.
BTW Ada is in region 24.
Your right since going to 8 teams D6 is easy to get in but after the first 2 rounds region 22 & 24 your left with some great teams.

Oh, without a doubt. I'm just speaking mostly to R22 as far as just GETTING IN, not winning the region. The east side of the state still has a handful of nice programs, but they just lack the consistency of programs in western Ohio. 1 year Newark Catholic will win state, and the next they won't make the playoffs. Similar situation for Mogadore who has taken a drubbing more than a few times.

Same place D5 schools do....weaker schools. Patrick Henry, Liberty Center, and Archbold in the NWOAL mostly play D3 and D4 opponents outside of those 3 listed. It's not really a matter of divisions in this case...it's just a matter of other regions are stronger and R22 is by far the weakest region in the state in terms of point values. Some of that is due to conference density being in the same region resulting in de facto losses.

Well, starting next season, you will be able to go down to Div 7........what a joke high school football playoffs have become in Ohio....and then we have a vote coming up to make private school a division of their own.......football in Ohio is ruined....way to watered down.....but hey, we want every team, whether they work hard or not to be a winner......what the hell has become of this state and country as a whole........oh, and next, let's put Obama back in office for another 4 years......that will be the real ball buster.....sorry guys...I am just venting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't go that far. I think it's perfectly fine to implement fairness in the game, although going to 7 divisions is a bit much as it's mostly just due to D1 school sizes, which is also a factor of the public/private debate. I don't like the move to 7 divisions but people didn't like the move from classes to divisions and the additions of more divisions either....we seem to live with it fine today.

7 Divisions in football? Not sure about that, particularly if private schools are going to have their own playoff.
