These threads do kind of crack me up...

...But not because someone is announcing they are leaving. It is more because of the people that are jumping in to pile on. Although, I will say, some are pretty funny.

So it is Sunday night and I am bored. When I get bored, I do something I enjoy - rile up moderators here!

Did you know:
- Since 1/1/2011, less than 1000 accounts (900 according to the site, but who knows how many people may have had their account deleted or otherwise terminated) with 10 or more posts have actually visited the RC.
- Since 1/1/2011, less than 1000 accounts (900 according to the site, but who knows how many people may have had their account deleted or otherwise terminated) have made 10 or more posts.
- Since 9/1/2011 (which is about the beginning of the past high school sports year), less than 900 accounts have even made a single post!
- Since 9/1/2011 (which is about the beginning of the past high school sports year), less than 1000 accounts have ever VISITED the RC.
- Since the beginning of 2012, less than 600 accounts have made a single post.
- Since the beginning of 2012, less than 700 accounts have ever visited the RC.

So...yeah...there may be 8,290 members with accounts that still exist, but using that number is like the Democrats claiming they have 10,000 members in some small town because they are claiming the 8,290 buried in the local cemeteries as their voters...(C'mon, how could I avoid a swipe at Democrats at some point!?!?!?)

My point? Well, while some people choose to announce they are leaving, there are at least 7,300 - 7,500 who chose to do it quietly. The ones who do it with a voice, however, open up so many great opportunities for entertainment for the rest of us.

You do something to rile up the moderators here when you get bored.........I am not riled up by your stats, I find them very interesting....I enjoy stats....for what they are worth, and look forward to you posting more in the future....keep up the good work Duh, and I look forward to many many more of your informative posts.....I also enjoy it when you bash the Democrats just a little.....but, you are being way to kind in that respect......I love you man!!!!!!

while some of your data might be on target, 2 are off..........in the last month, we have had over 10,000 unique IP addresses visit the site
what that means is that they might not be signed on when they click, and only sign in if they wish to post.......

I find it hard to believe that only 700 members have visited the site in 2012...........I would agree that a lot of people feel somewhat intimidated by posting on the RC....
postiing and reading are entirely different animals........during February and March we received nearly 1 million pageviews each month........somebody's reading, but
if your figures are to be believed, nobody's posting........thanks RM

How am I off? I never mentioned pageviews. I don't have any idea how to find those. Then again, a page view is nothing more than someone viewing a different page on the site or accessing the front page. Slicer by herself is probably responsible for 75% of that .

Quite simply, I am just accessing the stats you make available to all on the site. If this links up right, I don't know, but I entered in "Last visit is" "after" "01-01-2012" and came up with 33 pages, 20 accounts per page. Not quite 20 on the final page. So less than 660 accounts have actually visited in 2012. Looking deeper, only 504 of those have more than 10 posts in their history on the site. Digging deeper, only 248 of those who have visited in 2012 have ever posted more than 100 times on the site total. That last stat represents roughly half of the accounts that are listed as having posted over 100 posts during their existence on this site. So...yeah...if they have an account and simply aren't signing in and are only reading, I guess that begs the question - "Why are so few people actually providing content for others to enjoy on the site when, apparently, they used to provide content?"

616 total accounts have accessed the site since the beginning of the year. There are 8,290 accounts listed as being part of the site. So, in 2012, 7.4% of the RC users have seen it fit to even log in? Less than 600 (590 to be exact) have made a post? That would be 7.1% that decided they wanted to add content to the site.

Like I said - "Stats are fun!"

Worse comes to worse, at least this site keeps Slice from venturing out into society and scaring the neighbors TOO much

And I think you are right in noting that a reply comes with "matter of importance," as this clearly isn't important.

People ask me all the time about things, too, such as if the RC still exists. I would post a thread saying it does, but they're apparently among the 92.6% of registered accounts that have not logged in during this present year

Anyway...

I will add that, mind you, those stats with links will change daily so my numbers will be off. In theory, the only direction the numbers of accounts having signed in during 2012 can go is up, as anyone can create an account, which immediately increases the percentage, or anyone can sign in and do nothing upon signing in. Well...unless there is a way to create a new account and NOT be logged in upon first creating it.

Technically it isn't adding to any of the stats I listed, that I can think of off the top of my head at least. I've logged in and posted during the time frames noted prior to making such notations.

It may add to some other stats, however.

After sitting through A STATS class many years ago in college it is without a doubt you can make stat into what you want it to look like. Done with that cause STATS are for LOSERS anyway.

I quit this site many years ago. A couple years ago. Last year. Last month. Last week. Yesterday. Also, Self discipline is overrated. Its much more fun to require others to keep you in check.
