All bias aside, I don't think you want to compare the sports history of TC compared to Riverdale or Ada.....and they've held their own against Carey over the years, so I am not sure how those three schools would make the BVC so much stronger.

My point is that Riverdale is D6, they are very proximic to several natural rivals in HN, Arlington, LB and Vanlue. Rdale travels great, particularly when they have decent teams and would make a great gate for these four schools in particular. Throw in most of the kids that attend Rdale are relatively close to team members at these neighboring schools.

I just like Rdale in the BVC - it makes for a natural fit despite their limited success in football. They certainly bring a lot more to the table than NB which is the team that I have a major issue with...

TC would be decent, just not sure I like the proximity of the school to any school in teh BVC outside of Arcadia/Vanlue. McComb and Leipsic would have significant drives, as would HN and Arlington.

ONce again - my issue is with NB, not TC but would still favor Rdale if one school is added.

Yeah I agree Post. TC is quite a drive for most of the BVC. Were talking every sport so you make that trip several times.

NB, is just a solid program that replaces the on the verge of falling Vanlue or HN in any sport.

If Ada jumps ship, then What about Bluffton?

We would be happy to take LB off your hands.

Not sure if it has been previously posted, as I only read the first page, but the BVC is looking to break itself into 2 divisions. One being the "upper" division, which if just using the teams already in it, would be like L-B, Leipsic, Arlington, McComb, etc. Then the lower division being the 'lue, arcadia, HN, etc.

I refuse to count Rdale out of the mix...I think in the end, it all works out.

I heard this as well. I would rather see two evenly divided divisions.

I think Buckshot posted before it would be two revolving divisions based on past success, etc with a mix of top tier/bottom tier

Riverdale is out... take it to the bank. Ada wont come if NB, HL, and TC are the other 3. They needed a Riverdale/Bluffton/Carey apparently.

My Guess? NB and Hopewell will be the only two added if the decision is made to expand.

Personally, I feel that Riverdale has disappointed a lot of folks in their lack of response to the BVC. I REALLY believe the BVC powers-that-be need to step it up and press the issue if they would like Riverdale to join. I think that a good majority of schools and fans would like to see Riverdale as a BVC team. It's a definite win-win situation if Riverdale would become a BVC school.

Not saying I am disappointed with (or not looking forward to) the N10...just that the BVC would be a league where we actually "fit". We've been a school on an island for YEARS...it would be great for some of our natural neighbors to be league members also.

I agree. What's the point in being a "division champ" if it means being the "toilet bowl" winner? Split it by geography so you aren't shuffling the deck every few years...you keep inter-divisional rivalries alive and make things like record-keeping and a host of other things much simpler. Some years will have one division being decidedly stronger than the other, but it typically goes in cycles anyways when your talking about high school sports.

I'll say it once again. There is NO small/large division proposal. The two divisions will be split using a formula of previous wins and school size. The divisions will realigned every two years. The intent is to have 2 divisions of equal strength. Polk, are you the only one listening to me??

Heard from a very reliable source last night they do not as of right now have the votes to approve the expansion.

Wonder who the dissenting votes would be? Leipsic? Arlington? Who else?

If expansion doesn't pass it will be Arlington-Vanlue-Arcadia that votes it down. The other schools are on board

So if expansion is voted down how long before schools that wanted it make a push to form their own league as MAL football schools would gladly be part of that and take place of Vanlue/Arcadia/HN/Arlington if they vote against it. Just like the above poster mentioned with SLL forming NBC when vote did not go their way.

Typical...
1) The Lue holding the league hostage.
2) Arcadia not working and playing well with others
3) Arlington thinking their $%!t doesnt stink

I tell ya ......I'm shocked!!

I think it needs to be an 8-2 vote to pass. I did hear Arlington and Vanlue were NOs but didnt realize Arcadia we a NO as well. I can't think of a single reason to vote against adding schools to the BVC. But, the schools voting NO have to have a reason...its probably a selfish one but its a reason.

What does Leipsic have to gain besides more league games in Basketball? They have made the playoffs in football with ease the last couple of years, and they already have 16 league games a year in basketball since they are in the PCL as well...same goes for Pandora. Adding any more teams to the BVC would increase their travel cost too...

Not sure where the Arlington "no" vote is coming from. The only thing I know is that the vote is in May and at this point, Arlington has not yet determined how to vote. I suspect it will depend upon who the league wants to vote in.

For the record, I could not support NB and TC. While TC has solid athletics, it is nothing more than a long drive that most likely would equate to small gates. If you are bringing in Riverdale, Bluffton, Ada or Carey - I totally am on board. All of these schools bring in a natural rivalry (i.e. - meaning these schools play most of the BVC schools already, and are close in proximity).

No one seems to want to address why we would want to expand if it is NB and TC at the end of the day...I am all ears.
