Schools usually lose as many as they gain in Open Enrollment. LCC has no actual district, so they would have to recruit to have students at all.

You liar...come on now...we all know that their students are all god loving catholics.

The only thing ppl fail to take into account is its not that easy as, "I want to go to LCC, I'm going". You have to spend 5,500 a year to attend and even with a voucher it's still around 2,000 a year.

True, but thats is their choice. I also think they have tuition assistance also. Also, you can be denied entrance, but a Public School has to take you.

The same can be said for Chris Webber's broke arse family paying $30,000/year for him to attend Detroit Country Day.

Money is a small price to pay for athletic success/family pride/local recognition/ego trips...it's merely a formality of the matter just as "pay to play" is anymore.

Could NB be a sleeping giant? If community leaders in NB and Wood County take full advantage of the opportunity that new rail yard presents (ie jobs) the school could really take off imo

Whatdoiknow- there is a 0.0000000% chance the BVC takes only one.

It has to be either 4, 2, or 0. You will not add only one team in (H-L) for scheduling purposes.

And anyway, the BVC wants enough teams to have BVC Championships in other sports like XC, Wrestling, etc. And to do that, you would have to have more than one team come in.

If the offer is extended to HL, you can guarantee there will be at least one team, and maybe 3 with it.

Strictly my opinion. If the BVC votes down expansion you will see a spinoff of current members looking for alternatives outside the league. The whole expansion idea was to bring in competition, improve gate receipts and the make the conference stronger for wrestling-track -etc. If nothing is done all schools will lose. You can all talk that LB is pushing this for their own interst, but the facts are all schools are in need of revenue.

Leipsic, VB,McComb and even LB cannot support their athletic programs wth the likes of Vanlue, Arcadia and now HN bringing no fans to road games. The BVC proposal went out of their way not to exclude the interests of the smaller members, but if the proposal does not add at least two teams then you will have several schools looking out for their own interests. If that happens you can bet the Vanlues and Arcadias and even Arlington will be in the same predicament the MAL is in now.

How about a MAC type schedule for football only? The haves could look for competition and gates, the have nots could schedule like competition, and the strict traditionalist could try to entice the school they werent scheduled to play to do so anyway.

Is it possible that it is the preception that the nwc is not as good of a football conference without LCC that has Ada looking for other options? Every NWC thread turns into something about LCC. The rest of the conference needs to "man up" and admit that they could not compete with the t-birds then move on. You wanted them out you have what you want let it die. My experience competing against LCC is that they are nothing but a class act organization with good kids, parents, coaches and administration. Ada has been up front with their desire to continue to play LCC in all sports and i question if they would have voted them out. I have no doubt that Ada/LCC was the biggest gates for both athletic departments over the past five or six years. Maybe just maybe new matchups with Liberty Benton, Arlington, McComb, Cory Rawson Hopewell and Leipsic could make up that economic loss. It sure would not hurt that they are all better drives than Delphos, Spencerville, Paulding, Crestview, and Lincolnview. The ball is in the bvc's court to make a big power play and try to add two of the better small school football programs in Northwest Ohio. It is a big gamble politically because each of the other schools mentioned would be sure things. My gut says in the end the bvc does nothing or adds only H/L. North Baltimore brings nothing to the table, Calvert is private and Ada might turn the offer down. When will a decision be made?

Considering Ada probably has the most hate for LCC out of the conference, I seriously doubt it.

hahahah not again  yeah but seriously, DO IT ALREADY!! :furious: Vanlue needs to get over themselves! HN needs to go join another conference (NWCC?) The small schools (HN and the Lue) are making this complicated. Well i guess there is a school smaller than HN, but luckily Pandora-Gilboa is in a Athletically motivated community/county because the BVC doesnt need more drama!

Ada has the most hate for LCC out of the conference? Seems to me that it was Spencerville, Delphos Jefferson, Crestview and Lincolnview leading the charge to get rid of LCC not Ada. It is shame that LCC never let it come to vote. From everyone i have talked to Ada would have never voted LCC out. Regardless you have what you wanted they are out. move on.

davidson you seem closer to the situation than many. What is your gut telling you?

That's not what I've gathered from what I've heard from Ada people and especially Fell being POed at them. Not like LCC had any supporters anyways. Just an observation.

Who cares is Fell is POed at LCC? LCC players and community can't stand the guy, so it's only fair he feels the same way towards LCC. The only issue is, we have them on the schedule for 3 more years. If he was upset after last years game, wonder how upset he will be after this years, and into the future.

I feel the BVC will add 2 teams to its conference. Its a no brainer as the new look will help generate gate sales for schools that have had issues putting people in the stands.

Also...most BVC fans would like to see LB move onto a conference that fits them better but....if you talk with the ADs at the current BVC schools most or all will say they like LB because its the biggest gate day in BVC play. Its about the money!!!

Sling, you hit it on the head. Talking with some "neighbors" and it sounds like Arlington leaders are in favor of adding NB and Calvert. I hope thats true, the BVC would be much much stronger with those two programs added! Good job A-Town administrators...Do the write thing!

Not kidding at all. The feeling is that NB and Calvert set the BVC up with protection when HN has to fold the program and also for the likely merger into Vancadia.
