If LB, VB, Leipsic, and McComb leave and form a new league, they should invite, Bluffton, Ada, Kenton, Hopewell-Louden, Riverdale, and Tiffin Calvert. This would be a nice 10 team league. They could call it the Findlay Area Conference/League. (FAC)

IMO... Bluffton goes no where with out Grove... trade Calvert for Grove and you may have a winner! And leave the "Findlay" out of the ( a) name. They dont need any more reason to think highly of themselves!

I would hope that would be the case with Bluffton and Grove. I wouldn't mind having PG in there with that group but that is just because it would be a short drive for me.

I don't think the thought of several BVC schools breaking away from those not in favor of expansion is a recent development...in fact, someone in the know mentioned a scenario to me back in December...I wrote it off at the time, but now it's starting to make a bit more sense.

I also get the sense that at least two schools that have "committed" elsewhere are indeed still in play for the right scenario.

May should be an interesting month.
If those 2 schools are Carey and Riverdale, then I may not have been too far off my rocker all along.

Not saying it will or will not happen, but it ain't over til the fat lady sings...

It's not Carey
Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

I hope the powers that be realize that a mini-BVC is no good for my Devils! In a few years we might be left with a league football schedule of .... hmmmmm,,,,,,,,no one!

I hate to sound like a broken record, but if football had a tournament instead of playoffs, all of the league changes we see would probably not be happening. It would not matter what size your opponent was, you'd still get a chance to prove your worth with a tournament.

I agree with this. Grove would be great! I just threw out the name for no reason other than coming up with a name for the league. With Grove, their would be no private school debate either. Good call.

As for Kenton, yes they are always good in football, but that is it. They are not really competitive in the rest of the sports overall. No disrespect toward Kenton, but the teams I mentioned (now with swaping out Calvert for Grove), I believe Kenton would not dominate as much as some might think.

It may slow it down some, but as of right now, IMO, I think the BVC is looking to expand/ form new league/ split (what ever you want to call it) based on gate money. The athletic budget of LB VB and others can not survive on Vanlue and HN and others bringing 40 people to a game (football or any sport), And it doesn't help that other schools have people that go to games but dont spend a couple bucks on 50/50 drawings. (cough..cough.. CR.. cough..) . Yes getting to the playoffs is one of the factors but I think overall gate money has more to do with it. 15- 20 years ago not so much, more kids were involved in each sport, more people came to games, not to mention that 15- 20 years ago you could fill the bus up for maybe... $50/bus now its $150/ bus. You either need more people to come to the "money sports" or charge to get into ALL events. How many people besides parents 1) go to a baseball game or softball game or soccer game AND 2) How many of them would go if they had to shell out 6 bucks a head to watch?

Maybe more people would go to the games if they could form a tunnel at the end of the games.... :wallbash:
