We also can't forget the OG, Jackson Center, and Toledo Whitmer boys teams from NW Ohio who all had great seasons, along with the Bath Wildkittens on the girls front........We had a state champ in wrestling also from the immediate area in DJ's Curtis Miller and many others who made the trek down to the Schott........hats off to you!!.............Yikes!!........here I posted this and made a glaring omission......the Elida boys basketball team also provided the arena with the most excitement of any game played down there this year, losing to the proverbial favorite Dunbar team........their fans were tremendous and they had more butts in the seats than any other school there by a wide margin.........sorry
We ended the year with some of the best weather that I can remember last weekend.....man, was it gorgeous last Thursday and the Varsity Club was mighty comfortable. What has become a common thread though is the sparse crowds that has dogged the state finals for the past several years. High gas prices, bad economy, lack of big-time talent, and the OHSAA's insane ticket prices have all contributed to some of the mess.........I can't imagine how much money the scalpers lost again this year, but I know that if they paid even face value for the tickets their kids won't be getting a new pair of shoes anytime soon...

We had some great threads that captured our attention throughout the season and of course we continued to be on top of some of the biggest stories that our members expressed an interest. We set a lot of records for viewership again and while some of our more entertaining threads featured a few of the tried-and-true standbys, it always comes back to what our members want...........
This past football season the RC came up with our own Virtual Scoreboard where you could text in updates, the RC app, and next year we hope to have launched the RocketCorner News Network {RNN} where we will be streaming some of the games that our members are asking for......we've got a lot of great ideas in the pipeline......(and yes, I know that we need to have an Iphone app!)........and while it will almost seem like no one is here anymore because bball and football are finished, there is still plenty to see and do here.........if you haven't visited the RC arcade, I suggest you spend just a little time there..........and as always.........it's FREE!
Thanks again.........RM
