Has Vanlue hired a coach yet? I know I saw the opening in the courier.

Dman is the new Vanlue coach!

Honestly I quit reading this thread a few weeks ago and checked back in on it today...........glad I quit reading wtih Dman and his rants.

Anyone who reads the Letters to the Editor in the Courier may think Dman and Loren Pace are one in the same!

People at their Board meeting said they hired someone from Findlay named Birchmeier (sp?).....no head coaching experience but was a girls assistant for a number of years. Interesting choice.

Not sure about this move...Courier article even seemed skeptical. Good luck to the team---they do have some nice players coming back, so hopefully it works out for all of them. Idk if they play New Reigel early in the season again--looking forward to seeing the matchup if they do.

I think the new Coach will be very solid. I know nothing but good things about him. You have to realize it wasn't his fault the way the school handled the last coach! Don't give him a bad rap because of their sup't. Give him a chance and I think the community of Vanlue will be very pleased. Just keep the board and super out of it and let him run the program is my advise. You will be very happy. They picked a very, very good man!

If this was the case already, they would still have a good coach

I wish you guys bashing the Vanlue Super and School board knew all the facts.

Good luck to the new coach...looks like hes starting from scratch......

Scratch? I hope you are referring to building a staff and not of the kids.

Let's assume that Garber leaves. What does the new coach have coming back?

Garber might be the key (obviously would make a difference on any team he plays for at any level), but according to sources, there is a solid supporting cast also. It may be a different look than the past couple years, but Garber and the juniors (rising seniors) have been playing together (quite successfully) since they were very young, and the sophomores (rising juniors) and freshmen (rising sophomores) made huge improvements last season. They will still have decent size and will have a bunch of guards/small forwards that can shoot pretty well. I think these guys may surprise people....maybe not right away, but could definitely do so down the line this season. The coach coming in is getting some very decent all-around athletes, Garber included, at this point.

Well, I hope Garber stays at Vanlue. That will show me loyalty and the compassion for a program you have been part of for years. Time will tell but I still think hes gone.

most think that Gerber is headed over to the "Cookie Factory"next year but I wouldn't count out those Ridgerunners just quite yet........they have an uncanny
knack of persuading talented individuals to alight at the Eagles roost.........RM
