The games over. Move on. Let it go people.

Two great teams, great rivalry. I'm just glad that they will be meeting in the regionals now instead of the districts.

After we get a look at Portsmouth and the other two DIII teams down there, we'll see what they look like but I wonder if we didn't see the two best DIII teams in the state play another for the regional title.

The recruiting whining against private schools is ridiculous. It is what it is, and until the OHSAA changes something about it I wish everyone would quit crying about it. What are they supposed to do, lose on purpose? Not use their legal advantage to their benefit?

Personally I think its a bigger advantage in football than in basketball, but good public teams can still beat private teams - the odds are slightly tilted to the private schools overall - but so what?

That's why beating them makes the victory all the sweeter.

Dawgbone.....Your posts are making you look ridiculous. You can say what you want about the enrollment numbers, but keep in mind LCC can take any kid they want from the entire Lima area. The number of students in the school is irrelevant.....both teams only have 12 kids on the roster. LCC's talent pool is much, much larger than OG's when you consider the area and population that they draw from. If OG drew kids from all of Putnam County they would still be drawing from a population well less than half of what LCC has to get their players from.

I'll correct your post by saying LCC will take pretty much anyone if they are willing to pay $5,000 or more. But the reality is, people aren't lining up to go to LCC. If they were their enrollment wouldn't be at record lows. If you look at the Catholic Community that they have with their three feeder schools, you'll understand the population pool isn't very big. Most of the school is populated by kids who are 2nd or 3rd generation LCC affiliated or grew up in the catholic school system.

Let me know who the exact names of the 10% or so of who the student body are, that are voucher kids. Because I'm sure you know all the facts.

Ottawa Glandorf has a huge school district and if i'm correct, has open enrollment. I would technically say OG has it easier to attract students to their school considering they wouldn't have to pay 5 large to go there. You mention all of putnam county, but Hancock county isn't exactly a far distance to drive. But that would be me assuming things. I guess you know what they say when people assume.

Milt... Say what you want about OG's district, but there aren't any athletes playing sports at OG who are open enrollment kids. Every kid lives in the district. To take it a step further, I only know of only 2 kids who are playing sports at OG right now who moved in. One moved in as an 8th grader....and has parents who own a local business and one moved from Leipsic. Neither play basketball.

Haven't read the posts on this topic,so excuse me if someone else covered this. The WBL and OG's schedule prepared them much more for this game than LCC's NWC schedule.I was at many LCC games this season, and at probably 10 or more of those games,O'Connor,Taflinger, Kidd and other starters were not even playing in the 4th quarter.Off top of my head they played Allen East,Bluffton,Del Jeff,Elmwood in the last few weeks and they were out by mid 3rd in a few of these.T-Birds must upgrade their schedule, cause if OG stays in D3 they are going to be a power every year.Although it wouldn't surprise me if LCC were D4 soon.Still must upgrade the schedule regardless.OG will have many more regular season losses, but be more battle tested.

Alright Mr. Knows Best, this is your last warning. I deleted your posts last Friday and rocketman took care of you yesterday, that's 2 strikes, you know what happens on strike 3. Your IP address has you posting from a NOASCS computer at OGHS, and you post at the same time (now) every day.

OG starting to dominate this series and have won 16 of 21 since 95'...

Seggerson had a woeful 4-13 record during that time (23% winning)....

the new coach Frank Kill is similiar 1-3 (25%)

Now I remember why I HATE playing OG in tournaments. The Titans prevented LCC from moving on post season 2 out of the last 3 years! You can't dispute that! Well matched teams and ALWAYS worth the price of admission!

Good luck Titans!

(cept for you Mr. knows best)

Didn't know it was that lopsided in favor of OG...but it seems like every game the past decade have been epic battles.
