Rumor on the street in the "Big City" is that Kevin Homier and the school board is chasing Mark Wilson off his throne as the head basketball coach. If my memory serves me right this is the same thing he did to Doug Williams prior to taking over as head coach himself. What is wrong with a school system that will allow this to happen not only once, but twice. This seems to be a pretty spineless act for a group of professionals to do when they are supposed to be role models for the students in that school system.

I thought Wilson was Kevin Homier's JV coach? Kevin is an excellent coach, but the talent well is dry in Continental down to about the 7th grade.

I could see him having thoughts of returning, though, since his main reason for getting out as HC at Continental was to watch his son play in college........and Brock is no longer playing, so????

He couldn't make it at Defiance?
Didn't give it much of a chance if true.

as i understand it, he was going to be non-renewed anyway and Homier also received a couple other offers......

Apparently he made the wrong college decision. On a smaller scale that's like transferring from Michigan to Ohio State or vice versa.

Brock was upset about his lack of playing time and quit. There were other players playing ahead of him that he thought weren't as good as him.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to start this topic. I heard this rumor several weeks ago, from a very "reliable source"...seems ol' Kevin misses the game more than he thought & doesnt have Brocks games interfering now. Wilson (who is Kevins 1st cousin??) is well aware of the hot seat he is now on...and sees the writing on the wall...if KH wants the job back, its his for the taking...too bad as Wilson is a good guy and did a respectable job with the roster he had to work with. Some of this may hinge on wether or not Brock continues his bball career at another school

Mark was already aware of this possible situation as he stated that he had conversations with Kevin about how they would go about it if Kevin ever wanted to come back. Kevin assured him that they would talk first and Mark would be the first to know prior to going to the school board. That's what I heard from someone VERY close to the source..as if the source was one of them :)

Is Homier the principal? This is typically the principal/superintendent responsibility.

It is not exactly the magnitude of what is happening at Elida in terms of poor role modeling...but suffice to say that the coach probably deserved more (a lot more) time.

On a positive note...there are a lot worse things that can happen than end up with Homier back on the bench.

I do like your use of the term "spineless." I'm beginning to think that this is a prerequisite for securing a job in education administration...almost anywhere these days.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

if you are not aware of situation please refrain from pulling brock into this as he has nothing to do with title of continental coaching. he has chosen to move on to bluffton to further his career. if you check next years DC roster I am sure that there will be more than just him that you will not see from this year as he is not the only one unhappy about the situation there (and I am not talking seniors graduating).

as far as kevin coming back, i guess we will see when they have the next board meeting as to what will officially happen. there have been alot of rumors as of late but until a formal decision is made i am going to refrain from speculating. one thng i will tell you tho is kevin did not run out williams or the current coach. last i checked those decisions were made by the school board and he has never been a member of that.

labatts69,
forgive me, you are absolutely correct. Coaching changes in Ctown has nothing to do with Brock and his hoops career.

This is typical of all division 3 schools. Freshman come in and don't play right away and they quit.

The bigger question is if his playing time is not what he expects at BU will he quit again?

Bluffton had a very good year and there are some talented players coming back next year for them. Only time will tell!!!!

BBCAT,
Labatts69 was right. This thread is about possible Coaching Change in Continental, not about Brock. Lets stay on topic.

Question. How many in-laws does Homier have on the Board?
I would imagine that if Kevin wants the job, it will somehow happen.

First of all, you should know what you are talking about before you speculate on anything. First Homier and Wilson are not first cousins (not by blood). Second, coach Wilson has told numerous people that when he took this job at anytime Homier could have it back at anytime. So Wilson will step aside respectively if that is what needs to be done. Third, coach Homier had nothing to do with coach Williams.

Get the facts straight fellow rocket fans

And kept Brock out of this.

Enough said

Actually, I hope he comes back if its what the PEOPLE ;) want.
