Wondered what LB's travel time would be to the NWC schools........so now that 10 minutes of life is gone, I thought I would share........

Google Maps tells me IF LB was to travel to each NWC school once.....Total travel one way to each school is 452 minutes. Using Paulding as a comparison their current travel time to each school (including LB) is 540 minutes.

LB would have four schools that are over a 60 minute drive with Paulding at 78 and Crestview at 70.

Paulding has five over 60 with three of those over 70 and thats not counting LB at 78.

Someone else can do LB's current drive times............

I really don't get this. It sounds like someone bitching because LB is too big for the other schools. It would make more sense to me to hear LB bitching because the other schools are smaller then them. That league gives them very little help for getting into the playoffs. It helps now since VB is div 5, but before they bumped up last year, every other team was div 6. Not exactly an ideal position for computer points (reference past Bryan posts years back). And before anyone starts with the whole there are other sports then football rant. It is the only sport it affects dealing with post season play.

This whole subject is ridiculous. The problem with the BVC is not the sze of LB. You could throw out ot LB - VB -McC - LP and a few others and you would still have Vanlue with a team of 15-17 boys and maybe a girl. HN is now counting their JR kids in the weight room numbers.. For whatever reason these programs have hit bottom and everyone wants to blame LB. HN community shows up 300 strong to tell school administration we need a football program!!!!! Yet, when was the last tiime they took over 60 fans to an away football game. With or without LB - these schools will continue to struggle aganist all other BVC opponents

Don't blame Liberty Benton for being Division 5. Blame Vanlue for still having sports haha.

Another thought: would Kenton and Ada be the biggest to blame for Hardin Northern's fall? Steiner boy...

So people want to blame LB for being too big, yet I hear Carey, Bluffton and Riverdale's names tossed around as viable BVC candidates. All are D5, at least currently. I think Ada has been too.

No kidding. Besides that, Van Buren would have to be booted too (also div 5). Or is it just a complaint because LB wins too much? Interesting how some other leagues would like to boot a team for being too small and not winning enough. Funny how you never hear of a league wanting to get rid of a school for being too big, yet rarely winning.

It is not about winning at all. LB hasn't won a football league title in four seasons. Before that they had a very nice run. It happens in every league with PH and Wynford each having similar success but longer. Its about strengthen the league for everyone, including LB.

Ada has always been D6 in football since OHSAA went to 6 divisions.

I'm talking specifically about people wanting LB out of the league. If it's not about winning, what's it about? Like stated, VB is D5 and no one wants them out. 3 other schools mentioned for expansion are D5, but no talk of them being too big.

And the NCC never wanted to kick Wynford out, so there is no point to be had there.

Its about competing and helping these schools offset some of the cost. And having enough teams in a league that actually bring people to the games. Vanlue, Arcadia, Hardin Northern, Cory Rawson, and add in there a couple of other schools when having down years and they really hurt the athletic departments with teh number of people they bring to a game. In my honest opinion, Vanlue having 16 kids that play is a joke, but so is the 20 fans they bring to away games. I would bet my lunch money that the Leip -LB gate was bigger than the Vanlue-LB, Vanlue-Liep, Vanlue-McComb and I will even throw in the HN-LB, and HN-McComb gatesall added together. I dont care how bad you are, that is 5 to 1 and that's not fair to those schools and those kids.

No I think LB is great for the league, I just want bigger teams added to improve the overall comepetion. If that means breaking off and starting a new league, there I said it, then so be it. Yeah I guess we are.
