I also agree elida loses in the end just when it seemed they might be on the right track....i also believe from hearing comments from ppl close to situation that this all started from robbery incident and for whatever reason those ppl have been campaigning around town to gang up and carpenter hasn't responded well
How the robberry has anything to do with Carps action's is getting by me, How he nutting a boy is a witch hunt is beyond me as well.If I read the article correctly in the Lima news it was another student that went to the principle and told her of the nutt job! There is alot of speculation at best I would say that Carp is being ganged up on.

It would be the least rocketman could do to make a nice donation to EHS athletic dept . This drama is very lucrative for his advertising im sure.

Sadly, this situation was between the student, his parents, coach, and administration. Bill McDonnell called the newspaper to make it public for his own personal issues. Did he ever stop to think about the student involved and how he did not want it to go public?

Bill McDonnell, his family, and the whole Pizza Robbery clique need to flee town ASAP. They've got a personal vendetta against Carpenter and Elida and they're making the school and its community look terrible. We're in our first year of a brand new building, we're coming off a historic and amazing run in football, and we're currently in a great season in basketball, yet we have these wackos trying to bring everything down. The McDonnell family's comments and such on The Lima News and the comment section is embarassing for that family. The only reason that article made yahoo sports is because Bill brought it to their attention.
This whole situation needs to stop, now. Things are getting blown wayyy out of proportion. In hindsight, the best thing that could have happened was Elida not allowing the Maag youngster in the weight room. Of course, hindsight is always 20/20.

Long time viewer, first time poster. Thought i would put my 2 cents in on this subject. I am a member of the Elida community who does not have a dog in this fight but do know all the players from both sides. Based on what i know i think there is a bigger problem for this community than what has happened to the Maag boy and this new issue that happened in the classroom. Back in April, I was told by two seperate football players who were in the weight room that day that this did happen to Maag and they saw it happen. I never heard anything else over the summer until Miss Maag learned of the incident and notified authorities. I had the oppurtunity to talk to Miss Maag recently and she told me about her meeting with Don Diglia. During this meeting Mr. Diglia never denied that it happened but instead tried to brush it off as horseplay and these kind of things go on in locker rooms. Based on this information i do believe this happened and Diglia knows it happened. This is what I beleive is the bigger issue. You have a coach and superintendant lying to the public to save their own hides. So who is really to blame for dividing this community?

Carpenter. He just didn't quit while he still could. My guess is they just won't renew his contract. That's way easier than firing him.

But he would then just remain as a teacher...............his coaching days would be over after this incident (can't see another school district
taking a chance with what has happened)..........and now you have to find another coach WITHOUT a teaching position being open.......

best scenario is that if he left Elida, moved to South Carolina, West Texas, or Minnesota (or somewhere they don't have internet) and take
the "recommendation letter" that the Elida administration would undoubtedly give him and try to get another coaching position in some
smaller school.............RM

He's right. Deal with it.

I'm sorry in reality people crack jokes once in a while. I guess in our societal authoritarian communities in the US, that's no longer tolerated.
