I second/third Fort Recovery. They are Columbus good! And will be next year too.

Personally, I believe this would be a smart game for Korto to sleep all the way through.

Watch out Dman......that johny b good character brought up about Korto dozing off and caught all kinds of he!!......on a serious note,
Fort Recovery has all the tools....and they are D4....they will be tough to beat!!!!

Kalida played their butts off last night!!! I came away very impressed with the Cats. Indians new right from the start they were in for a dog fight!. Kalida plays the style of ball where they will have a chance to win when the 4th quarter tips off. I think when push comes to shove, Dick kortokrax will be will be coaching his team at Columbus one more time.

Good call!!! Last I heard Kalida was down two starters? Plus a coach taking naps during the game!!! no chance???
Caldwell, Do you have pictures and were you at the game? I doubt it. It is just hearsay, just like any other comments about Richard L. Kortokrax. Poor loser or your son did not make the team.

No, just having fun!! I have total respect for Dick Kortokrax and what he has done for Kalida over the years. His basketball senses are still sharp. He puts in the hours, he does his own scouting. He is in total charge of every aspect of his team during the games. Anyone saying anythig different isn't familar with Kalida basketball or like me, just stirring the pot. Kalida has the coaching and players to make it to at least Regionals possiblt State. They need one player to stand up and be a leader.

Then Kortokrax must not have had anything better to do last Friday night. I didn't think the Grove Lincolnville game was going to draw fans from all over Putnam county.

Wrong, I see Dick Kortokrax scouting at a lot of the games that I'm at. If Kalida doesn't have a game, he is scouting somewhere.

Stober also does scouting for Kalida. I saw him with a clipboard at a Tinora game ove Christmas break.

Rick Korto and Joe Horstman also scout. I've seen them in person this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mr. Bob Gerdeman on the scouting scene either. Dick has many loyal assistants that do a great job helping the program. Long live The King!!

Like every good coach...The King scouts games in person while simultaneously sending assistants to do the same.

For the record...every year threads poking fun at Dick Kortokrax find their way on here. This is all the evidence needed to demonstrate how damn unthankful the coaching profession can be. I dare say that NO individual in the history of that community has done more to reflect a positive image for Kalida. In fact, I'm not certain one individual in ANY town in Ohio has been more responsible for a positive identity for his/her community.. For those of us on the outside...Kalida is basketball. It is discipline. It is consistency. It is toughness. It is Columbus or bust. It is everything that most communities hope to be.

Had Dick Kortokrax not coached Kalida, the overwhelming odds are that Kalida would have nary an identity at all. Kalida would be like the rest of us. Looking to some other town or community as a gold standard of how it should be done.

For those who live in that community, many who have never known it any other way, to turn their backs one of the greatest high school basketball coaches the country has ever known, is pathetic. You don't have to like him. But he deserves and demands respect.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

First, let me say that Coach K does know basketball. Period, no argument there. However, I go to all home games and witness the activity coming from the bench - or the lack of it. OK, so we have assistants up-the-wahzoo - but there isn't any spark coming from the bench. He definitely does not coach with the enthusiasm that he did years ago. Whatever makes the kids happy, that's all that matters in the end. So many of you on here call kids that quit or just don't play "whiners and lazy." That's ridiculous! Yes, in the end what really matters IS...."Did you have fun?" As for Coach K doing more for our community than anybody else, I take offense to that. In fact, I bet you could find more people who would argue that Father Mark has reflected a more positive attitude among our community. Sports aren't everything to everybody. I like sports, but they don't define me. And as long as Cloverdale and Dupont are on the map - I'm sure Kalida will be too. Oh, and just to reference another forum on here, our CYO team is made up of some pretty darn good players too! Good Luck to ALL Kalida teams!

Should read: "Did you win" or "Did you learn to be a good teammate and learn discipline." Your choice. Basketball is a whole lot more fun when you win....

You shouldn't take offense. It's his/her opinion, as is yours concerning the priest. Being a Catholic isn't everything to everybody either. Just thought I'd point that out.
