If you can hit, play defense, and run well enough to at least do the little things get from 1st to 3rd on a single, get to the less than routine balls in the field, and score on a wild pitch, then you have a place on my team any day.

Good instincts can trump athletic ability in baseball anyday. You don't need to be fast to run the bases well or be a good defender. Just have to be smart and take the right first step.

rowdy,
I'm with you. After a winter with nothing but wrestling and basketball, I'm more than ready for baseball season to get here. I'm hearing some pretty good things about Defiance just a few days into real practice. Also from Defiance county, Tinora looks to be pretty good again this season. I realize they're not a WBL school but did make the Final 4 last season. Thought I'd throw them out there.

I think that OG may have the best position player in the WBL with Casey Schroeder. An outstanding catcher and major college / pro prospect. I'm not sure if OG can compete for the WBL with Defiance and the like, but they should be very good. They are also very young with several juniors and sophomores this year who played major rolls as freshmen and sophomores last year. They will have as quick of an outfield as any team in NW Ohio, with an all around solid infield defense behind the pitchers (need to find a SS when Schroeder catches). Also should have a strong and fast 1-9 batting line up that is capable of putting up tons of runs. And of course, the Titans will need to find some pitching to give their offense a chance to outscore teams. I'm hoping this can be the year where coach Miller and the Titans get to the top of the WBL and knock on the door.......

has anybody heard about OG's Schroeder? I know he will be catching for Kentucky but also heard he might play both C and SS for the Titans this year. When he is catching, who's at short?

I know Wapak will be competing with a whopping 0 Seniors, which is funny because that class is 8 wins away from being the winningest class in Wapak baseball history as the 2011 class holds the record.

redskin.....no Seniors? Wow, I thought OG only having 4 was odd but to hear of a school having zero is unreal.

Redskin Rowdy, not to argue with you as I too am a redskin fan myself, but are you counting the wins from the 2010 season to the win total for the class of 2013? I was just curious as I don't remember any of this year's talented juniors contributing much to that season.

yes, it counts for all 4 years... Understanding that most classes don't play varsity as freshman... It does count for them

Wapak is off to a strong 7-0 start, which is pretty good for not having a single senior on the team.

Defiance improves to 5-0 on the season today. They've allowed 4 runs on the season, 1 to Findlay and 3 to Eastwood.

They've outscored teams 50-4 so far. Not saying we're unbeatable because this is baseball and anything can happen on any day. But if the pitching keeps up the way it has it'll take an equally brilliant pitching effort to pull it off.
