Kalida has never just packed 9 guys in the box.

game225 where do u really come up with your info... to say that kalida keepers are overrated is stupid ecspecially looking at the last few..and kalida doesnt pack 9 in the box they barely have nine back on a corner kick..

All of Klida's keepers could not have over rated look at Cody Maxwell, he was an amazing goalie.

but not any better than ben miller, if you would have put ben miller on the kalida team that maxwell played with, ben miller's stats would have been just as good if not better than maxwell. PEOPLE don't get me wrong maxwell was a good goalie, but his team/defense was awesome, and they made maxwell look awesome!!!
maxwell wouldn't have looked near as good on the kalida team this year, or continentals team, or pg or any other team in pcl this year, cuz lets face it... PCL is weak this year!!! very very weak!!!


I know people are gonne go crazy because of what I just sadi, and thats why I will say this again, Maxwell was a fantastic goalie!!!

(but not anny better than some goalies that I've seen in pcl!!!)

Maxwell was a first team all state keeper. He is definitly the best goalie that this county has ever seen.

How old are you? The reason I ask is because I don't think you've seen as many PCL keepers in action as you lead on....although I could be wrong.

But, I have always looked at it like this......Who's a better keeper?

The kid that saves 20+ shots a game because his defense stinks and only gives up one goal.

OR

The kid that saves 6-8 shots a game because his defense is good and only give up one goal.

I'm old enough to have seen as many keepers as you. I've also seen Cody Maxwell win games for his team. He definetly earned the credit he was given. If you don't believe me, then ask someone who played for OG his senior year.

Why is everyone on this dang site obbsesing over Ben Miller. Ok, he's good. We know. BUT, You dont have to take so far as to compare him with ALL the keepers this county has ever seen. His career isnt over, neither is the season. So wait till it gets deeper into the tourney to give him so much credit as you people are now!

beacsue ben miller is the best goallie in pcl this year that is why I used him as an example to show that cody maxwell wasn't no god or annything like some people think!!!
there has been many goalies that I think have been just as good as maxwell but just didn't have the team he did!!!

i am sticking to my point that kalida keepers are overrated. They DO pack the defense every game. Maxwell is a good keeper, but he defintely didnt deserve all state team. if you would of put him on ottoville or miller city he would been terrible. Cmon, i bet if you looked at his stats he didnt have that many saves because kalida always packs it and you werent going to get that many shots against him. so if he only had to save 3 shots a game of course his GAA is going to be low.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? He deserved all state honors that year for sure. Why do you keep playing on the keepers in Kalida? Kalida has had a good history of good keepers and DEFENSE. Defensemen make up the majority of the total defense. The other part is the keeper. Please understand that this happens all over the state, not just in this county alone. Do you think that its a possiblity that some other keeper who had a great defense in front of them got all state honors as well? Just think about it and quit bashin.

First of all, Maxwell was a very good keeper that deserved all state honors. Although I do agree that he may have been a bit overrated because of his defense, in a shootout there wouldn't have been any GK I'd rather want on my team. And secondly, if I remember correctly, during Maxwell's tenure at Kalida, Ottoville was actually pretty good. So your claim that he would be terrible does not make sense. Ottoville did knock him out of the tournament his senior year and took FJ (ranked #1 that year) into 2OT before losing on a late goal.

game225, if you think that Maxwell wasn't that good then you obviously didn't see the OG game from his senior year. Nor did you see the regional final game his sophmore year where he blocked TWO pks from their two best kickers. Likewise, you must have missed the save he made with three seconds left in the regional final game his junior year to force overtime, and that is just the start. I will grant you that he did have great defenses in front of him, but when that defense got beat, he made some great saves.

What about some other PCL players..(besides Ben Miller ) I still like brandon miller for o-ville!

After seeing the season unfold.....Honestly the best keeper in the PCL is Ross Gerdeman hands down from FJ. He kept that team in every game. He was a big reason Fj didnt lose to ottoville. He had big saves all year and turned out to be a big help for them

I have to agree, he ranks up their with Miller and Vonderembse, and he is only a junior.

Hey, those 7, yea 7 goals vs. C-R, were they all scored on Gerdeman?
If so, does that change your mind about him?
