haha. Archbold is bound to have a few terrible years again at some point, right? Probably after Krauss retires.

dman,

Of your list at least four of the mentioned players are not homegrown kids because they have attended other school systems or open enroll. I guess the future success of the conference is compromised.

What does homegrown even mean? I lived in lima until I was 5 and then moved to elida and now I live in lima. I went to school in lima....was I considered homegrown?

clutch to be honest only the great dman can make that determination. If memory serves correct the tbirds were subpar during your playing days so i am not sure anyone would have a problem with your football career. To be clear i have no problem with where any of these players play because they have not yet determined the school they represent. However, dman does not like any transfer/move that is for athletic reasons and all open enrollment students or teams success with these kids makes you a strip club or playboy magazine in comparsion to our societies more noble professions. :pickles:

Unless they benefit Delphos Jefferson... :punk:
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

There have been many Freshmen step onto Varsity teams and help to turn them around (McAdams, OConnor, Mathias (sp. sorry)) to name a FEW, That being said I can see many coaches hoping these kids can do the same and I feel many of them can. JV players can be JV players for 3 years and then quit, if you have 8th graders (next years freshmen) you get excited about what is to come next year.

Is Al Welch interested in returning to the Varsity bench with this crew?

Don't see him returning to varsity bench. He is helping with the Jr High though. Varsity job is Linder's to keep in my opinion.

What are current records of LCC, Delphos Jefferson, Bath, Wayne Trace, Ottawa SPPS, Glandorf, Ada, Kalida, Crestview or Spencerville 8th grade teams if anyone knows? Any tourney info or times on any would be appreciated on any.

LCC to my knowledge has not lost, Spencerville is 15-3. These two team Play Saturday at at 12:30 at Crestview for the Wendy's Tounament Championship (NWC Tournament). Crestview finished 11-6. Not sure about the rest, Jefferson and Spencerville tied for NWC West Title not sure of Jeffersons overall record.

Jefferson and Spencerville tied for NWC West

They have played 3 times. Two overtimes (Spencerville on top) and another 1 point game (Jefferson on top). All games...I believe were 2 points or less. Future looks good for both of these teams...particularly since LCC is leaving the conference.

I agree that we should not even worry about Junior High players at this point, but since I was able to take in some 8th grade basketball this year I will give my two cents:

SPPS is a nice ball club, but too many egos on the bench and in the stands. Next year when the 3 schools come together there will be a lot of hard feelings to overcome. The point guard is a nice player, but again, he needs to move out of "Dad's" shadow and grow up. He whined a lot in the two games I saw. Also, they ended the season with 2 losses (Glandorf and Kalida).

Arlington also had a nice team. Someone told me that LB beat them in a close game in the 8th grade BVC tourney. They had 5 solid players and again the point guard carries a big ego. Saw them win one and lose one. In the game they lost he was out of control. Another example of too much pressure from Mom and Pop in the bleachers. But I will say this team had the best 5 players that I saw in Junior High.

A good friend of mine said LB has 2 really nice players that COULD contribute at the Varsity level next year. But I question that because LB is loaded with Sophomores this year on JV & Varsity. If they are varsity material, that could be scary for the next couple of years.

In a few posts I have mentioned parents. I hate to see parents that are "living the dream" through their kids. Kids deserve to be able to grow up, not be molded.

Enough junior high talk.........we can talk about them in a couple years.

That's right because if you can not beat them, run them off. Then you can tell the world how great your future is.

1- LCC hands down! They beat Chaminade-Julienne by 30. All wins are by double digits. Their top 6 could start on any jr high team in Allen County and every surrounding county. They have some names that might sound familiar (Simpson, O'Conner, Taflinger, Walton, Cobb, Dixon and Rhodes)
Other notable teams:
Celina- Undefeated with a pretty solid schedule
Wayne Trace- If the Linder kid is playing, he's a solid point guard.
Bath- Has 2 losses (LCC by 12 and @Celina) Top 5 are good but lose a lot when they sub.
Shawnee- Lost their first game to LCC last week by 30+ but still a really good team with O'Neil and a Thomas kid I think?
Crestview- Lautzenheizer is a nasty point guard. This kid is gonna be special!

Simpson and Walton, are these familar LCC names?
