When the boys who now play varsity were in junior high, they played some of the most exciting games we have ever seen! The same "nucleus" of kids went on to play junior varsity, and then varsity. Sure - they picked up a kid or so who did not play junior high ball, but not many. Junior high is where their basic love of, and skill for, the game is developed. Even earlier - in middle school. Maybe even before that. Whatever stage in which they begin to play the game is important! We should definitely CARE about our junior high teams. They are an indication of things to come!!

What varsity program picks up a kid who didn't even play in jr high? Jr high is like the minor league of varsity. Some kids make it but a lot eventually get weeded out.

Guess I was thinking of move-ins. Also, most of our kids make it. I didn't say ALL - but most.

NWC 8TH GRADE:
  • LCC
  • SPENCERVILLE
  • JEFFERSON
  • ADA

I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

St. Peter and Paul in Ottawa won it all last year and were undefeated as 7th graders. This year as 8th graders they should be considered the best jr. high team in the area.

Kalida also has a strong 8th grade team.

Wow, it's amazing how much things change in one year. None of those 8th grade teams is within 40 points of last year's Glandorf, Grove or SPPS 8th grade teams.

Varsity basketball must be way down this year in Northwest Ohio if we're already talking about Junior High teams.

When did Spencerville play SPPS? I don't recall that game, the only team that beat them last year was LCC in the NWC Championship game. LCC and Spencerville are by far the best int the area.

No disrespect to spps but summerball is not usually the entire team.
