Pemberville: "Speed kills" Those words couldn't have been any more true then last night as the Eagles ran over, around, and threw the Titans 31-0. And the two backs that inflicted the most damage just happened to be brothers.
Zach and Isaiah Conkle have been torching defenses all season long. Both have over 1,200 yards rushing this year. Last night was no different as Zach exploded for 308 yards on 18 carries with 3 TDs and younger brother Isaiah had a very solid 102 yards on 18 carries and 1 TD.
The tone of the game was set just 1 minute after the kickoff as Zach bolted to a 65 yard TD, leaving the O-G defenders in his dust.

Zach would score again just seconds into the 2nd quarter. This time from 77 yards out. A blast up the middle then a cut to the outside and it was just a matter of speed as Conkle outraced the O-G DB to the endzone.
Making the game of football look easy, Zach burst up the middle then angled it to the corner as he covered the 40 yards quickly and gave the Eagles a 21-0 lead with 6 minutes to play in the half. Zach ran for 239 yards on 13 carries in the first half.
The Titans would finally get some offense going and advance to the Eastwood 2 yard line. But the Eagle defense would hold on 4th down and take the ball on their own 4. Instead of going into the half up 21, the Eagle offense wanted more and drove the 96 yards to score again with 15 seconds on the clock. This time Isaiah would get the score from 24 yards out. Eastwood enjoyed a 28-0 lead at the half.

O-G would muster some offense again mid way thru the 3rd and get into the red zone. Eastwood's Dieker would step in front of Siefker's pass at the 10 yard line. The Eagle defense limited O-G to 273 yards of total offense and Tristen Parker to 51 yards on 14 carries. Parker came in averaging 132 yards a game.
Neither team would garner much offense and Eastwood would hold onto the ball in the 4th. Derek Snowden would add a 37yd FG for the Eagles with 3:43 left to play giving us the final score 31-0.
The Eagles (11-0 NBC) will advance to play Bishop Hartley (10-0) next Saturday. Ottawa-Glandorf bows out at 8-3.
