I think Defiance is the team to beat!
They are in a league of their own.

Honestly don't know what their record is but Bath is still in it. Playing OG tonight finishing up a rain delayed game @ Elida
Go Bath Wildcats and Wildkittens! Go Ohio State!

O-G is done. Paulding eliminates them 5-1 this afternoon. IMO Paulding proved they were the best team at Miller City a week ago. The only loss suffered was in a "mud bog" where field conditions were terrible, and affected the game. After qualifying, Paulding forfeited its shots at the Miller City title to O-G as Paulding had played 7 of 9 days coming through the losers bracket. Bath is undefeated, Paulding plays LCC (again) Sunday for the right to try to upend Bath. Bath has beaten O-G and LCC by run rule. Paulding and LCC each had to play twice today in 90+ heat due to weather re-scheduling. Bath has the easy path for pitching - as they were handed a schedule advantage in finishing their first game on Thurs., and only playing once Sat. while the others played twice today and have to play again tomorrow while Bath is off again. ??? Shouldn't first and second round games all occur on the same date so that pitching days/innings are equal? ??? Whats with the Bowers kid from LCC (via Columbus Grove, via Elida) - he doesn't even have his own team jersey so he has to borrow one?

I do agree that Bath certainly has to be favored at this point. They have their pitching set. Whoever wins today's game between LCC and Paulding will have their pitching burnt, as they will be playing their fourth game in 3 days when they face Bath tomorrow. Why wasn't the entire schedule moved back when the first round had rain? Other sites pushed their schedules back a day. Remember a pitcher can only throw so much (10 innings, 3 days rule). Not that anyone should throw more than that. Brutal heat also. I bet none of the umpires did two games yesterday. Just seems that by tomorrow, LCC or Paulding will be at a serious disadvantage due to scheduling. Bath certainly looks to be playing the best right now, but didn't both these teams give Bath all they could handle earlier this summer?

Sounds like an interesting matchup today. Both teams used up pitching yesterday. Will Kottenbrock be back for the T-Birds today? tomorrow? Maybe the winner today should hope for rain tomorrow.

Nice game this afternoon by Paulding. Defeated LCC 5-1. The Sholl kid pitched well, and good defense behind him. Could have been more lopsided, but Paulding stranded a lot of runners. LCC had no pitching. Paulding's 2B made a dazzling play to take a hit away and snuff a potential late LCC rally. Finals tomorrow - 6:30. Paulding will definitely have to score more against Bath to have a chance.
