I have a question about Elida.........will the bulldogs build on the success of the past 2 seasons? It is going to be tough to replace the likes of McAdams, Etzler, Blyemyer, etc. Does Elida have much coming up or will they return to being the dregs of the WBL?

I like how OG looks this year. And for next year, it will help almost their entire offensive line are returning as well as Parker returning as running back. The defense is always good so I'm sure that will come together. It will be hard to stop these guys. I'll take OG bringing home the title.

While one has to think that Wapak and OG are in the cat bird seat, I suspect Kenton and Elida will have something to say about that. Elida has a strong Junior class , all LBs return, several potential QBs are available and a young defense has alot more experience. This years freshmen will contribute and has some much needed size. Kenton is never out of it and the WBL will find out that there is life in Kenton without Maty.

Kenton will come out of the woodwork with a third Mauk brother. His name is Mauk Mauk. (Because he's so good they just named him twice) The T-Shirt he will wear under his uniform will feature Clint Eastwood standing on a pile of WBL helmets with this caption:
"Tell 'em I'm comin'......and I'm bringin' Hell with me."

I wouldn't count out Defiance. We may not win the league, but we're definitely on the way back. Only losing 10 seniors, although that includes Lopez and 3/5 of the O-line. But the entire passing game returns, and they made great strides through the year, and outside of 2010 we usually just plug in linemen and running backs and still have a solid rushing game.

The key will be to get back to playing Defiance defense. If they do that, I could see 7-3 or so for sure. Depending on how much Elida and Kenton drop off, I think we can factor into the battle for 3rd along with some other teams.

Hopefully Defiance will be a little better next year. It has been a long time (2003) since Defiance has had a solid defense. It is directly related to not having any size in the lines. Unless some returning players grow a lot, the size issue is not going to change. Defiance's great defenses of the past were built around good size tackles and a small mean nose guard getting into the backfield and making plays.
