In the article by Bruce Hefflinger (someone who I respect very much for his knowledge and fairness btw) he stated that it was time to muzzle the bloggers because of some perceived information that a coach was able to glean about an opponent from our site.

And then earlier this week the Lima News ran a story about how Tyler O'Connor from LCC announced to the world that he was going to Michigan State to play football at the conclusion of his high school career through his Facebook account.

It went on to mention that during the period of time when RocketCorner posted that Josh Leslie was leaving as Ottawa Glandorf's head boys basketball coach the Lima News was unable to confirm the news through the traditional means....(ie: Athletic Director, Superintendent, etc) I guess what they don't realize is that there are a heck of a lot of different ways to skin a cat nowadays

Facebook, Twitter, and yes........even the RC are the wave of the future when breaking news hits.......but this is the
quote that really got me......
QUOTE
We don't use rumors or innuendo, and we can't rely on an unnamed source. For every story that turns out true, there are three or four hundred that turn out to be completely false, run-of-the-mill internet fodder.
Folks, I read the Lima News nearly every day (or at least the sports page) and I continually find rumors, innuendo, half truths, and quite frankly just a lot of bullpuppy on a daily basis......If they don't like us, fine.......either does the Huddle!

All I want is that we be recognized for what we truly are........Ohio's #1 FREE high school sports website, where anyone can come to get information, discuss, and even debate the merits of a lot of different topics. You don't have to subscribe to our website or answer some stupid question like what type of browser do you use to surf the web like the aforementioned Lima News.
We're here to stay whether they like it or not, and as papers such as theirs continue to struggle in their fight for readership...........we continue to grow by leaps and bounds....
It's a new age and like they used to say............Chit or get off the pot
