If he came out and said it I believe that his records wouldnt stand...right or wrong I still feel he did the best by saying that for himself because his records will still stand...may not stand well with other player analyst and baseball fans but for him he did what was needed...

Needed, what do you mean by needed? If he did it he is a cheater and doesn't deserve any records. What would happen if you were that pitcher that was pitching against him in a crucial game and he won it with a homerun. Do you think it would be worth him getting a record for you to be out of a possible championship. But I guess if you cheat and win it ok, by the wat let's play some cards, I only cheat when I have to.

No I dont agree with it at all actually...I dont think he should hold any records....my point was by him saying that he didnt know he was taking them was to keep his name on the records...I think if he said he knew he was taking them then his name would not be in the records...AGIAN I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE ISSUE...I DONT THINK HE SHOULD HOLD THE RECORDS! IM SAYING WHY I THINK HE SAID HE DIDNT KNOW HE WAS USING THEM!!

im not sure if using steroids when he did could really be defined as cheating in the context of the rules baseball set in place. they had no rules prohibiting steroid use. yes it is giving u an unfair advantage and ruining your body, but there were no rules against it. i dont see how his records couldnt stand because baseball created the problem by not prohibiting the steroids.

i agree with ajax and there is no way they could punish him for something that the rule was made up for after the fact! which is MLBs own stupidity! but maybe they dont make you better per say but they do help you recover a lot quicker from injuries which is deff. an edge a player has on his cometiton

they help you recover quicker from workouts letting you workout longer and harder, building more muscle mass. because of this they can sometimes cause injuries when the muscle mass becomes to large and puts too much of a strain on the tendons and ligaments. barry bonds has had problems and i remember mcguire always had problems with his legs supporting all that weight. another good example is david boston.

Last time I heard, steriods were illegal for anybody to take(unless prescibed by a doctor). Just because it wasn't outlawed by baseball doesn't mean you can take them. If I get caught taking them at work I'll get fired so what's the difference. Just because he has more money than I'll every see, shouldn't allow for it to be o.k.

yes steroids are illegal in our country, but lets say someone in baseball uses them in a country where they are legal and then comes back here to play(before the steroid rules). would that still have been cheating? then he's not breaking any rules.

So if people know if he was taking steriods over seas and he came back would they recognize his numbers. I for one would not accept his feats as a player. By the way if it illegal in the olympics(spelling, rough night last night ) I would take a gamble and say it is illegal every where they play baseball. So you are saying if you do drugs overseas you are alright when you come to America. Man did Ricky Williams get a raw deal then.

ricky williams is a prime example, he smokes the happy grass and everyone knows it, NFL doesnt make it secret but he doesnt get put in jail by the government, even though it is illegal, i think professional sports should turn them in if it happens...that will change things real quick

thats a good question: why cant the government prosecute based on the league's drug tests? i bet being faced w/ legal consequences would stop a lot of drug use. and i'm not sure what the olympics have to do w/ professional baseball, do major leaguers compete in the olympics?

I dont think the law will do much....you shouldnt do it any how and if your morals are that low to ruin your baseball career then the law isnt going to stop you anyways...

i'll have to agree somewhat with Slugger....bonds won't break aarons record, he may just hit a few more, but not enough to break that record.

Bonds will hang around long enough to break the record just because people don't want to see him do it. (the media especially)
