Keep on trucking Ober. You'll get through this. I know your family and know they are based on strong faith so noone needs to tell you to pray. We'll just help.

Prayers request

Great news! Prayers for a continued recovery!

Ober, it's been 4 months now but I've still kinda been wondering how Gabe is doing. I assume he has recovered by now but I'm wondering if there were any long-term effects? Still thinking of you all.

Mo...Thanks for thinking of us. Gabe is doing great. He has a couple scars on his side from the tubes they put in. He has gained his weight back that he lost (and added some)
I dont think he is going to have any long term effects from this as he was very healthy before, and after they drained the fluid, he cleared up quite quickly. We were supposed to give him IV's at home for almost a moth after release...we ended up only doing it for 2 weeks! What a trooper he was. 7 IV's a day including spending his whole lunch/recess in the nurses office with my wife taking an IV.
Gabe's pneumonia was a very bad case. Luckily it was just in his right lung. What made it so much worse was the fluid build up outside the lung tissue. That fluid wouldnt let his lung distend normally and that is a major factor in being able to clear up the pneumonia. Once the fluid was drained, he started to improve rapidly.
They do want to test him to see if he has asthma as I do and also my dad and sister. He doesnt weeze but coughs when he is very active. We will see.
But I am actively taking bids for Gabe. He is an annoying booger so the highest $$$ amount takes him...lolo
