Rocket,
The 141 points put up by the Explosion yesterday may be the Explosion single game record in
the "new" ABA ( they aren't part of the NBA Developmental League), but it doesn't appear to be
anywhere near a league record as surprisingly as that may seem.
I had hoped to attend the game yesterday afternoon, but was drafted instead by Mrs JB into assisting
with a family holiday extravaganza and the Explosion, along with the Bengals, quickly found themselves
on the back burner for the afternoon.
I just looked at some scores throughout the league just from the last 10 days and here is a sampling from
throughout the league. . . .
Little Rock Lightning - 199
NE Arkansas Swag -107
S. Carolina Warriors - 183
East Point Jaguars - 101
Milwaukee Blast - 168
Porter City Punishers - 117
Nashville Soul - 161
Little Rock Lightning - 127
I also saw 3 other teams scoring 150 or more points within the same
time period, so the 141 points scored by the Explosion yesterday seems well within
the league norm. Maybe the 141 is a record for their Division, the Mid Central this
year ? but not even close within the other 10 Divisions in the league based on the scores
I saw from the last 10 days or so. The league has been around since 2000, but have no
idea if there is record data base anywhere on line.

Now I haven't been to any of these type of games, but do they play any defense at all? I can't hardly believe they do if they are regularly putting up 140+. I mean 199 points in a game is ridiculously high. Maybe they're playing 40 minute halves???? What gives?

Kyle Meyer good talking to you before and after the game, very nice effort yesterday with 29 points !! Kyle Meyer is a Columbus Grove graduate and played his college ball @ Ohio Northern University. I have had the opportunity to play in a 3 on 3 tournament with Kyle a few years ago, but I confess due to conflicts with my own kids I had never seen him play in High School or College, and I tell all you basketball fans out there, he is worth the price of admission as are the rest of the Lima Explosion Players.
Jamar Butler played really well and really impressed me as a guy that potentially could play in the NBA, he defends well and picks his spots, a good facilitator with great court vision and understanding of the game.
Adam Stolly handled the ball nicely for the Explosion and is a very good defender, and a good testimony to hard work and getting in the weight room,
Looking for Kyle Gillette to catch his stride and get physical, Kyle is a UNOH grad and really offers the Explosion great depth off the bench as does Big 6'7" 280lb Wapak Native BJ Reed who played at Ashland.
Greg Tyson a 6'5" 200lb guard bring great energy to the Explosion,
Willie Tisdale really is exciting to watch, he creates shots for himself in basically any scenario and is one of the quickest and best leaping guards I have seen in some time ( Spud Webb comes to mind) and i am not kidding.
Geoff Reeder also a UNOH kid adds a nice component to the offense. When you have a shooting guard that is 6'7" it opens up the middle big time !!
Now its hard to pick a favorite on this team and that is what is really cool. This is actually a TEAM, they pass the ball, they find the open guy, they work really well together, the Miami heat and some other NBA teams would love to have chemistry like this.
now Clyde McKinney Jr from Indiana Tech is another young man that impressed me, now I have no idea how old some of these guys are but Clyde reminds me of a mix between Vinney the Microwave from the 89'90' Detroit Piston days and Baron Davis, this guy is a wreching ball in a good way. If I was at Rucker Park in NY picking teams this would be the first dude i would pick. He goes to battle and doesn't take his foot off the gas.
# 24 James Hicks is a 6'7" 225 lb true Power Forward from Indiana Tech # 15 D'Angelo Jordan from Tiffin University is a 6'7" 205 pound guard and both of these guys can really play. I am not sure what high school they went to but I am thinking to have these guys work with my son on his game ( $ 10.00 per hour when you have time D'Angelo, bring Kyle Meyer and James Hicks also and I will buy Pizza for everyone)
Coach Quincey you may already being thinking this, but you need to run some clinics for local kids for $ 50.00 a person, do a "Big Man Camp" type instruction and "Power Forward Camp" etc,
I guess what I am saying is if you have not gotten a chance to see the Explosion this year, get out and see them, They are 7-0 and have such good talent and work ethic combined with depth I believe they have a chance to win 25 games this year, they are fun fun to watch.

There is no statistical database. ABA founder joe newman tried to hire a statistician, but he soon resigned after lack of payment.
