The SLL fared a little better this week going 4-3 in non league matchups. The only real surprises were from a couple games that were closer then one would have thought.

Genoa 15 Oak Harbor 7

Genoa has owned the SLL for the last couple years and the outcomes haven't really been close in any of their games. Last night a newly motivated a resurgent Oak Harbor squad came in to Comet Country and battled the Comets right to the end.

OH outgained Genoa 166-148 total yards...yes that's right, only a combined 314 yards on the night. Defense was the story and there was no bigger defensive plays then at the end of the game.

Oak Harbor's Zach Preisman picked off a Genoa pass and the offense drove down to the Comet 6 where they faced a 4th down with 27 seconds to play. Genoa's Devon Sibby sacked the Rocket QB to seal the victory.

Kyle Nutter led Genoa with 73 yards rushing. Steve Young led OH with 115 yards passing.

Genoa stays perfect at 2-0. OH suffers its first loss to go 1-1.

Port Clinton 35 Gibsonburg 6

A close game at half turned into a 29 point loss for the struggling Golden Bears. PC led 14-6 at the break but tallied 3 unanswered TD's in the 3rd quarter to put the contest away.

Helping PC were the Gibsonburg turnovers. 6 of them to be exact. This game is a glaring example of how turnovers affect a game as both teams totaled nearly 300 yards of offense. So what should have been an even game, turns lopsided on the scoreboard.

Brett Diekman threw for 165 yards and a TD for the Golden Bears.

Gibsonburg falls to 0-2 on the season. PC keeps their record stellar at 2-0

Elmwood 29 Lakota 12

A very strong ground game powered the Royals over visiting and former league foe Lakota. Senior QB Jack Waldock led Elmwood with 164 yards and 2 td's. He also threw for one score.

Nate Wacek added 64 yards and a score for the Royals.

Lakota's QB ran for 151 yards and one score.

Elmwood evens their mark at 1-1. Lakota is now 0-2.

Woodmore 43 Stritch 24

The Wildcats got on the winning side this week behind and offensive output of over 400 yards. QB Jon Sandwisch threw for 3 TD's and Pierce Fonseca added 180 yards on the ground.

Woodmore enjoyed a 36-0 halftime lead and called the dogs off.

Stritch managed just 110 total yards including a 90 yard TD run by Nick Fuller.

Woodmore improves to 1-1. Stricth falls to 0-2.

Eastwood 63 Rossford 0

3 TD's by Marquise Pitts and 3 from Zach Conkle powered the Eagles over invading Rossford.

Conkle led Eastwood with 143 yards while Pitts added 92. Eastwood piled up just over 400 total yards and held the Bulldogs to just 81.

Eastwood improves to 1-1. Rossford falls to 0-2.

Hopewell Loudon 21 Otsego 17

Tyler Tyree threw for a pair of touchdowns to lead Hopewell Loudon past Otsego.

Tyree connected with Alex Ratchen for a 10-yard score and threw 55 yards to Logan Sendelbach for another as the Chieftains improved to 2-0 on the year.

Logan Kirby provided the Chieftains' final points with a two yard run. Cody Ickes booted all three extra points.

The Black Knights fall to 0-2 on the year.

Northwood 29 Lake 2
