1. Lake- Should be the team everyone wants to beat this year
2. Waseon- Looks quite a bit stronger coming into the season
3. Memorial- Always tough defensively, and have more than one girl that can put a ball in the net
4. Kalida- Look to put a strong team on the field
5. Riverdale- Have a new coach, but are tough, and could become very dangerous
** These are barely more than guesses. It's still too early in the season to know more, but it will be interesting to see who will rise to the occasion and who slips away.

Riverdale did beat Kalida 5 to 3 in a scrimmage, but Kalida used there third string goalie in the game and had another key player out as well so I wouldn't read to much into that score

The 3rd string goalie is not the only goalie that was in the game....... While one player might have some impact on a game/scrimmage Riverdale far outplayed Kalida in the entire scrimmage

That's it? One little grammer jab and you you're gone? So that's where the term "Soccer wimp" comes from.

lepiota your a Bath supporter right? It is my understanding that the Bath girls team is pretty solid and have visions of going places come tourney time. Am I hearing things right? I know my LCC girls beat them but I think it was more of the ball just not going in the net more than anything else. Something like 14 shots to 4 but the Birds got one to go in. There hows that for starters on this dead topic!

I would disagree on that but it's just a scrimmage, like I said I wouldn't read to much into it.

I hear our girls have some strong upcoming freshmen and will soon dominate the WBL with an iron hand.... or maybe just an oven mitt, as it were.

One of my teams to watch is the good ole Lake Flyers!! Lake returns some real play-a's from last years team plus they will be inspired after their disaster earlier this year to prove they are winners more than one way! Good Luck Lady Flyers! OG should be tough and one team that is making a little noise with there undeafeated season is Van Buren. I will wait to brag on them later once they play LB. The Eagelettes of Liberty Benton may surprise some teams this year dispite losing their stud Amanda Hyde. I can't think of the young lady's name (maybe Burkett??) at the moment who is a sophmore but she can pretty much play every position on the field. She is tough!! LB also has one fine coach (The Rock!) who will make things happen!
Well enough stuff for the nite heavenly slice.........................

Gamekeeper,
I read your post and couldn't disagree more. I am a parent of a girl (not playing much) and I have been to most games. Here is what I see and why I disagree.
1. We have a winning record. Therefore, coach is winning.
2. Burkett does not play 'out front' as you put it. She primarily plays midfield and defense. Sometimes even goalie!
3. We lost a whole lot more than Amanda to graduation. Amber and Marie received all district recommendation as well. Therefore we are rebuilding more than we are reloading this year. Don't discount the other seniors from last year and their contribution to the team.
4. If anything, Coach is being too loyal to the juniors and seniors. The teams best players are freshmen and sophomores. If he wanted to try new things as you put it, he would play all the youngsters.
5. We have a good team philosophy. We are outshooting teams and generally possessing the ball more than the other team. Just can't put the ball in the net. Its frustrating for sure.
6. Team has been injury plagued this year.
My guess is that you don't know the game as well as you think you do. Maybe a bit of sour grapes as well?

One of your opponents, Riverdale, has an abundance of youth also. Although we do have some quality players that are seniors, I'd say that we will be reloading for the next three years instead of rebuilding. We have good talent in each of the grades, but I'd have to say that on the whole, the freshman class is the most talented group (for their age...they will only get better). We start (or play a great number of minutes with) 5 freshmen...including our goalie. Yes, L-B may be an elite program for some years to come, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are in Riverdale's shadow either. It should make for some very good games.
