just watched the news. Looks like its coach montinary from Jefferson. Fantastic deal for Spencerville. You will see improvement right away at Spencerville. This is big.

Yep...we are thrilled with the choice of Troy Montenery! We know him from younger level youth teams.
He is jumping right in with home visits to meet us and answer any questions. Hoping for great things.

Hopefully one of your questions was why did he abandon the Delphos Jefferson program right after all the good players graduated and can you expect him to abandon Spencerville as soon as the job he really wants opens up..........

I actually have already asked why he left his last couple positions. The answers I got were satisifactory to me. Of course, this was not directly from Coach himself, but the reasoning seemed to make sense.

I hope for the kids sake, he's in it for the long haul but I have to admit I'm a little skeptical. I think there is potential to turn that program around over there but it is going to take someone that is committed for the long haul. I guess I'm just curious why he left Delphos and then jumped back into a rebuilding situation. I'm quite certain he wanted the Elida position (where I believe his kids are in school) and I'm willing to bet he would jump at that opportunity again should it arise anytime in the near future. Good luck momof31, I do hope it works out well for your son and for the program over there at Spencerville.

He's not a very good coach? he is the BEST coach i have ever played for .. he knows more about the game of baseball than anyone on here hopes to know. I was upset when he left our program at Jefferson because i knew we wouldn't get another coach as good as him. Spencerville is fortunate , but if he stays for the long term I am uncertain on

The timing of that is somewhat curious. There you go Pitching 101, another vacancy you can apply for. And they have already shown they will hire an Elida guy so you might have a shot........

There is a whisper off the Pirate ship that a new coach has been chosen......

Is it Samuel Fruchey a.k.a Bart Simpson?

However, even with the amount of talent coming back with Cheney, Goldsberry, Steingass, Wannamacher(sp?), and Falk, I think they'll finish second behind a strong LCC team.
Losing Suderman and Skilliter to graduation are HUGE losses in which I think will be very hard to replace.
On the contrary, Anderson and Groman are both very replaceable I believe they batted mostly towards the end of the lineup and to my knowledge led the team in SO's.
Anyway, best of luck to the Pirates. Prove me wrong and bring home a consecutive NWC title.
