Many positives indeed! The Pirates graduated 4 first team PCL players including the POY so there were big shoes to fill. So, let's look at some positives: A Freshman pitcher threw a pretty good 4 innings before Bath...let me say it again, BATH started hitting her. The other Freshman played well, but again, they were playing against one of the premier softball schools in the area. They battled back from an early deficit to take the lead entering the fourth. They are young and will get better.

Ben is right. I know our 'kittens pounded you guys the other night but we've got great hitters throughout the lineup with a lot of travel ball exp. We will put up big numbers several times this year so don't get down over that game.

Another rough game for the Lady Pirates. Keep your heads up, Girls!! You graduated almost a whole starting team last year, time to rebuild! Just remember to work as a team, it will all come together! Anxious to watch you grow as a TEAM!

Bring in Jessica helped our hitters a bunch. I seen most of the girls keeping eye on ball until contact. way to go ladies. I was most proud of one girl she got a single, a fielders choice then fought of a tough pitch to earn a walk. she watched every pitch. Leva looked very good went at batters. Steph made a good diggs keeping runners at bases. If they can hit against faster pitching, Tuesday Ayersville. Got back some of our runs back 12 - 2 Go Pirates. We had troubles early, then we got her timed. We did hit the ball again, just not that big hit to score runners from third. Cambria and Leva got hits again. Glad to see that.

I see there is not a interest . I thought there wud be comments galore. I think they r doing their best. It looks as if they r learning some things. Coaches getting excited and overjoyed at times.

A little early to be pushing the "panic button" TB? From what I have been told ( I've only gotten to one game), they are improving everyday. Can't replace that many starters and expect to be world beaters.

GREAT job tonight at Tinora!

You fought back from a deficit, played tough, rallied and kept very upbeat and positive! What hustle on the bases! I don't remember who hit it, but the "walk-off" home run was fantastic!

Coaches made great moves and substitutions.

I know you have a long tough week with 6 games -- if you played like you did tonight you will do great. Keep it up and you will very soon be "scary good". Fear the Pirates.

Come on TB -- you can't saying ANYTHING good about the Pirates? You were quite vocal when you could slam them . . . .

I answered your question on who hit the home run. I knew they could play like this, I have seen them b4. But u must use 2 hands catching a pop up. They forget the fundamentals of the game. No excuse for that. Marlene and Ky r hitting the ball. while others take called third strike. I know one for sure. there r others that do it also. Last night taylor going to second base to cover the ball was hers to get not the pitchers. Ky covered her butt got the out. See they need to play their positions better. They r coming along well, I know for a fact they can play better, over the past six years i have seen them play way beyond what was expected of them. Tonights game with Kalida was a win, over the years I talked of earlier they have not lost to many of the county schools. Leva was tired the last inning, her body was not coming through with the pitch, Ky came in did a good job. Wind was nasty tonight. Pop up were an adventure for all.
