After today's game, it's a good thing AC can play defense and handle the ball...........He played down to the rest of his team's level today. :glare: Wisconsin is a tough place to play.

And that's true too. Eric Snow had a good pro career, he was on the Sixer teams with Iverson that was very successul in the early 2000's. Point being, there are LOTS of guys who can score in the NBA, facilitators are few and far between. I think you'd also notice his shooting would get better. Heck, Magic Johnson was a terrible jump shooter at Michigan State. YOu do one thing for 15 years and you're bound to get better.
Now, performances like today vs. Wisconsin will right out of any NBA career talk. At some point, he's going to have to be able to consistently hit a 15-17 foot jump shot, or at least be able to get GOOD shots off.

The other problem OSU has is you didn't recruit Craft to be a scorer, and we all can agree to that he wasn't recruited to average 20 points a game, (but yes it would be good if he could get at least 10 12 points every game)

The problem is the players that were scorers, and recruited for their scoring isn't.........AC isn't doing any less, he is just not doing any more.
Williams needs to man up and play like a big man against every team, And what about smith Jr? He hasn't exactly been the offensive juggernaut.

OSU doesn't have an outside shooter, or an inside presence like they have had and it is showing. AGainst Wisconsin couldn't even finish layups. They missed a ton of layups.

Williams has been very disappointing. Smith JR forces shots, handles the ball poorly and makes poor decisions. This team right now is a total mess. Not a Matta fan as a coach and his team yesterday seemed disinterested. Almost cost them against Northwestern.

Disagree, I thought AC played hard as usual yesterday. His teammates did not.

I don't know that you can recruit at the D1 level for kids that can't score. You may find out they can't play at the D1 level once they get there. Craft was fantastic scorer in high school, and I'd think he was able to play at a high level in AAU, or Matta would not have signed him. Likewise with the rest of the Buckeyes. You would think these guys were high level high school kids to be even considered to play at Ohio State.

Craft wasn't a great scorer in HS. He could drive and get to the whole, and make free throws. He could always get to the basket in Highschool That's where the majoity of his points came from and In college that has changed guys are bigger quicker. He never was a big 3point shooter. LB had one of those on every team that Craft played on. he took outside shots, but his main scoring was driving, steals, and pull up jump shots.
He was never a Thomas you scores from every where on the floor. I still contend Craft was brought to Ohio state to do what he is doing and of course I am sure they were hoping he would start to feel more confident in his jump shot by now. But his greatest strength is what he is doing. the problem is his weakness is Ohio States weakness and that's scoring consistently.

Thomas better average about 25-30. Guys that finish as on the 4th or 5th best team in the conference don't win POY. I'd say at this time, it's got to be Zeller, Olidipo or Burke of Michigan as the front runners.

AFter tonight and the last two games I have watched I have to agree with you Common Olipido I think is the front runner for POY for the Big ten.
I think Indian and Mich state could end up playing again in the tournament championship game. This was a good game tonight.

I disagree Matta has won wherever he has coached...... The problem with this years team is that they lack experience, and scorers...... The players like Lenzelle Smith who force up shots constantly and have trouble finishing at the rim, need to mature, if this ohio state team wants to make any noise in the tourney

He is not a good x's and 0's coach whatsoever, I would take at least 4 coaches in the Big Ten over Matta when it comes to this part of coaching. Starting with Izzo.

Not offensively but defensively he is one of the best coaches in the Big Ten. He may take too much pride in his defense though, that is big part why Lenzelle Smith starts over LaQuinten Ross. But it was once said defense wins championships.

Aaron Craft played by far the best overall game of his career tonight. Just completely dominated IU on both ends of the court.

Anyone else besides me a little shocked at the Big ten player voting.

Michigan point guard Trey Burke has been named Big Ten player of the year by both a media panel and league coaches.

The media's All-Big Ten first team is Burke, Oladipo, Cody Zeller of Indiana and Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas of Ohio State. The coaches went with almost the same exact group, except Michigan's Tim Hardaway Jr. replaced Craft.
