It will depend a lot on how WB and Thomas play and how good Shannon Scott comes out of the gate.
Craft is a point and really wouldn't do anybody and good to play him at the 2.

Sullinger, Thomas, Buford, Seibert and Craft will probably start. Unfortunately that is a HORRBILE starting 5 defensively.

There will always be doubters. Everyone that matters in Columbus is sold and that's al that matters.

I think it's funny to hear the arguments stating Aaron was only good because of his surrounding cast. No matter who the teammates are it won't affect Aaron's greatest attribute and that's hustle. It wouldn't have mattered if Sullinger and Buford had left, Aaron Craft will still play his unrelentless style. He will average 2 steals a game because of his hustle and attitude, not who he's playing with. If anything as OSU loses people Aaron's scoring will have to increase to compensate for it. And I'm willing to lay down money right now that he does this.

I'm also willing to bet that even if Craft averages 14 points, 7 ######ists, and 3.2 steals a game, Victorian still will not be "sold"

He is benefitting a lot due to the fact that Sullinger draws so much attention. Ask yourself, of OSU's 7-8 man rotation, who are you least concerned about? It's Craft, and it will be Craft for as long as he is there.

He is doing his thing well, although, for whatever reason, he is getting away with a lot at the defensive end of the floor.

A complete listing of Big Ten honors for last season. Note that Aaron was the only player in the Big Ten unanimously voted all defensive team by the coaches( to me that means more than the vote by the media). Also voted as "sixth man award" by the coaches. On the media side he was voted as honorable mention........not bad recognition for a true freshman in my book..

Actually, I'd say he plays defense by the book. He moves his feet, stays in front of his man, and does not use his hands to impede his man's progress. You are allowed to "chest up" the ball-handler as long as you have position. Aaron is so good at reading ball-handlers that he generally gets to where his man is going first. As he continues to mature physically, he's only going to get quicker and even harder to beat on the defensive end.

The hiring of Chris Jent as an ######istant at OSU is a plus for Aaron. As much as I like him at point, I can see him moving to # 2 as victorian stated when Scott gets in the lineup. Chris as shooting coach should help Aaron in making the switch when needed to the 2 position a smooth one..

I just don't know about that yet. Scott is decent defensively but still has a lot to learn, Buford and Thomas can't play D and Sully is very limited on what he can do defensively. Craft is alright defensively when he gets on a smaller guy but can't be expected to guard any 2's or 3's with any consistency.

I love the lineup from an offensive standpoint, but defensively and rebounding they would get abused. They have to be able to matchup with the length and athleticism of the Kentucky's of the world come tourney time. Matta is lacking in that department.

OSU's success is going to ride upon how quickly Williams can break into the rotation, and if Craft can start knocking down shots.

Craft will be the point guard and I am not sure why you guys keep wanting him to move. Matta didn't pick Aaron up to move him to a 2 guard down the road. So, I am guessing that any other guard that is coming in will go to the 2 spot. The player from Georgia, i don't see making the line up right off the bat. He has the Sibert, and and Smith to also play the 2 or 3 spot who are 6'4 which makes more sense Like Vic said defensively.
Just because they played point guard doesn't mean they will be point guard unless Aaron goes down, the point guard spot will be his. :nerd:

Maybe Craft should stop the Football office, it looks like the could use a QB :D Their offense is so vanilla. I swear I saw Woody Hayes on the sidelines last week calling plays

Hard to believe but Hardball is almost here. Nov. 11th starts OSU's first game. Any thoughts to the big ten, and how the buckeyes will do this year.

Buckeyes on paper should be crowned Big 10 regular season and tourny champs this year, but now that would not be any fun would it.
Anyone see the Bucks play last night? The had an exhibition game against Walsh, but have not heard too much about it. I know they won but thats it

4 Aaron Craft
To borrow a Matta phrase from last season, Craft was Craft, a pest in half-court defense, digging down on double-teams to strip unsuspecting players of the ball. He had as many steals (four) as shots and points, and three assists against one turnover in 22 minutes.
Matta said he used Craft as an example in practice Saturday to emphasize to the rest of the team the importance he places on playing defense.
"In a breakdown drill, we weren’t getting out of the big guys what we wanted," Matta said, "so I called Aaron down to guard the post, and he showed the big guys how to guard the post. I announced to the team at that point, 'Look, I won’t take him off the court, because it matters to him. He can defend.'
"I thought what he did today defensively, he was Aaron."

One of the new starters for Ohio State is Craft, a sixth man as a freshman last season who usually ended up playing 35 minutes a game. Donovan said the difference in the game was the pesty Craft.
“Clearly he dominated the game from start to finish,” he said. “He was the whole key. He physically manhandled our guys—steals, strips, loose balls and drives.”

Impressive win for OSU. Team looked pretty good. Duke looked stale at times. Another solid game by craft.
