Aaron Craft of Liberty Benton may get about the most minutes this season for OSU , along with Sullinger.
OSU looked much better with him on the floor facilitating the offense. Point Guard by Committee doesn't work.

Jared Sullinger lost his baby fat in less than 6 months. He is listed at 6-9,280
and may lead the Big Ten in rebounding this season. Enjoy him while you can. I
was concerned about his leaping ability last yr, because was carrying a few extra
pounds, not much fat left...

The deaper we got into our bench, the better we get. Deshaun Thomas had 24 pts off
the bench and played about 1/2 the game. He is listed at 6-6, 230, but makes
lighty, diebler and bufford look like little kids. He can play the 2,3,4 or
whatever he wants.

Tuesday against Florida in Gainesville we will find out how good the buckeyes are.

With 10 minutes left in the 1st half, Buckeyes turned the ball over 3 straight possesions while Aaron was on the bench. Matta immediately got him back into the game. Buckeyes went on a 10-0 run. You are correct the offense flows better when he is in the game. Tuesday will be a challenge for AC. He will be facing a athlectic florida team. What he lacks in physical talent he overcomes with his very good knowledge of the game.

I believe he will be starting by the beginning of the Big Ten season.

Although the offense looked good all night tonight, I thought it looked best with Aaron on the court.

He(or the rest of the team) didn't look fazed at all in a tough environment. Can't wait to see them develop throughout the season.

Can't wait to see them play defense.
That was pathetic.

I'm wondering when it's time to move this talk to the college forum?

cool.gif Yeah, I agree He is not in HS anymore, and he showed it last night against a Strong Florida team. Like I have been saying, he will get to play and can contribute. They had very nice balance scoring from several starters, and seemed to have better ball movement than some of the games last year. Aaron handle their press very well. Nice game for his first big time program game. And if I am not mistaken VIC, he played quite a few minutes. So much for later in the season. biggrin.gif

He did play well and played a lot.
My guess that is what his career will consist of: 8 ppg, 4 apg, but a liability on defense.

Keep guessing, over time you might improve.

Keep digging that hole you've put yourself in, 20 feet deep and growing.....

I am *guessing* by the time Craft is finished with his career at OSU, you are going to look back on some of this stuff you've said and regret one or two things cool.gif.

Ok, what are your thoughts?
There is nothing wrong with averaging 8 ppg and 4 apg for a career.
The fact that he is a defensive liablity is not his fault. That is not to say he is horrible on defense, it has to do with his size and lateral footspeed. Those are two things he cannot control and will need to compensate for .

Vic.....Craft got his first looks from D1 teams because of his Defensive abilities. Ask anyone who saw him play in AAU games against some of the top guards in the country how much of a "liability" he is on defense.

I loved what i saw from the freshman last night. He handled the gator pressure well, and didnt make any stupid turnovers, knocked down a couple shots and didnt force anything. IMO im glad to have gotten rid of Evan Turnover. Its nice to see what can happen when we get good possessions and have shots instead of turnovers. Only 8 turnovers as a team will get the job done any day. I realize its only one game but it looks like Craft is gonna play a big role in handling the ball this year and with Sully getting attention down low everything opens up for the shooters on the outside. Should be a good year for the Buckeyes thumbup1.gif

I guess it remains to be seen. Problem he is going to have, even if he is "The Glove" as you claim, no one else, aside from D-Laud and Lighty can play defense on this team. So he can absolutely bust his tail on defense and it not matter or show. These guys are going to try to outscore people and that tends to affect things on the defensive end. IMO he isn't going to force anyone to turn it over or stop anyone from shooting over the top of him. Remains to be seen how he adjust I suppose.

I guess that I wasn't watching the same game as you, Vic. He was NOT a liability on defense. He kept the ball in the middle third of the floor while bringing the ball up court, all the time while the Florida guards tried to be physical with him. Put it this way, he never looked rattled and was never pulled out of the game to settle him down. Also, hit a couple of shots, one of them a three in the first half that stopped a Florida run. Bottom line - HE DID HIS JOB and helped the team win. "Liability?" Are you kidding me?

Do you know the difference between offense and defense?
Who is he going to guard?
He did fine offensively. He is going to bring the ball up, distribute and knock down 2-3 open looks a game. And that is fine.

Doug Gottlieb from ESPN this morning said he was impressed witth the freshman point guard Aaron Craft.
