Tiger Woods injured in morning car crash

ORLANDO, Fla. - Authorities say Tiger Woods has been injured in a car wreck in Florida, though his condition is unclear.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the PGA star was seriously injured after he hit a fire hydrant and a tree as he pulled out of his driveway early Friday in his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle.
Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital. His condition was not immediately known, though the news release said his injuries were serious.

Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, told CNBC in an e-mail that the golfer is "fine."

The Orlando Sentinel reported that the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, meaning the vehicle was moving at a speed under 33 mph.

The highway patrol says the crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending. However, the highway patrol said the crash was not alcohol-related.

Woods, 33, owns a home in the exclusive subdivision of Isleworth near Orlando. Orange County property records indicate his home is valued at $2.4 million.

All day every report was different. Tonight the State Police went to his home to speak with him. His wife said he was resting and the police agreed to come back Saturday. Do you think we would get the police to treat us the same way? I'm tired of hearing the special attention these guys get. They still wake up and go to sleep like the rest of us and put their pants on the same way we do. It just sends a bad message of "star power". I hope he's ok, but still he can get out of bed and talk to the police.

Something sounds a little fishy with all of this......

Come on guys, cut Tiger some slack. He was up at 2:25 in the morning the guy has to get some sleep sometime. Poor guy was probably making a 7-11 run to get milk for his little one or something heroic like that and the next thing he knows he's in the neighbors yard. But yes, yes indeed, it's looks like another celebrity gets some special treatment that no common Joe would ever get.

I heard this tonight on ESPN radio. His manager said he now has no plans to talk with the police about what happened. What a good example of a high profile sports figure. I hope he doesn't get way with this. This is BS!

Not like I'm taking the guy's side or anything cause something does sound fishy, BUT, it sounds like legally he doesn't HAVE to talk to the police if he doesn't want to. Some Florida law. As long as you give your driver's license info, proof of insurance and registration that's all you have to do. Sounds kinda like pleading the 5th. shrug2.gif

Wife smashing out windshields with his golf clubs as he is trying to make a quick exit, due to his messing around with another woman. In his hurriedness to get away hits a tree and is injured.

A wise man once said, "Show me a man with the hottest woman in the world and I will show you a man who is tired of boinking her".

Wow Tiger is human!

I understand that but why haven't they cited him for failure to control yet? That is an easy one in this matter whether he talks to police or not. The whole thing stinks of celebrity "look how mighty I am" sh!t if you ask me. He is great but not above the law by any means.

Gumshoe, you sir hit the nail on the head. Why would she run up to the house to get a golf club to break out the window instead of grabbing the spare set of keys to unlock the vehicle?? Alot of unanswered questions that we will probably not know for quite some time.

Good point. I just meant it from the standpoint of why he hasn't talked to the cops yet...or if he will at all for that matter from the looks of it.

I doubt they can charge him with Failure to Control since it happened on private property. I believe they are investigating the Domestic Violence aspect if she indeed was chasing him with a golf club and her actions caused his accident, which is likely why he is in a pinch, not wanting her to get in any trouble.

she would not break out the rear window of an Escalade, crawl over three rows of seats to help him out of the car. Escalades also have key pad entry locks and the car was not damaged enough to prevent the door from opening. Tiger and his wife are gonna be huge targets until they come clean but he is in a huge slippery slope, if I tell the truth, my squeaky clean image takes a hit and my wife who is already mad at me could be in trouble with the law. If I dont say anything, everyone keeps probing and my image takes a hit and my wife might get in trouble.

Tiger cited for careless driving. Four points on his license and a $164 fine. Pretty much what any of us would have gotten in the same situation.

One thing I've learned from all of this. I've always known that Tiger could swing a mean golf club, but apparently his wife swings a golf club a whole lot meaner and with a lot of force.

I heard while she was swinging the club at the car she was screaming "Four" "Four" Four" But the guy that heard her screaming said it could have been another word involving the letter "F" ....... Hey, that's what I heard.

Tiger Woods has been released from hospital after emerging from a minor car crash with nothing more than facial lacerations.

Breaking news for the moment: More women are coming forward about Tiger's affairs. I think the number is up to 3 so far. Looks like ole Tiger didn't just concentrate on his golf game. I think he likes females, and lots of them.
