The player kept his head the whole game, but when being taken down from behind in the second half of a 0-0 game, he lost his cool for a second. He deserved a yellow card.
With that said, it should have been a PK and a red card for the player who took him down when he was on a break away.
Anyone who knows me know I have a bit of a bias as does "Noname", however any neutral fan at the game would have certainly agreed with my thoughts.
I just find it hard to believe that is all he said....and either way, if that is what he said there is no place for that if he was upset then he can express that in other ways...but its obvious the kid can't control himself he was going crazy on the bench, don't get me wrong I think the foul should've been called and if the ref didn't want to call it in the box it was close enough to give it just outside the penalty area but either way I hope the reaction and the comment (although brief) was worth it, and doesn't this happen every year? LB complains about getting beat out of the tournament? Knoxville is an upcoming program that continues to improve each year gotta give them credit, again I'm not saying knoxville is saints and there were plenty of calls not called on NK in face NK's coach was pretty much a hot head the whole game i'm surprised NK kept their cool despite their coach.

1. New Knoxville defender delivers a hard foul to an opponent going to goal in the penalty area
2. The official who was right on the spot awards a penalty kick for the offense
3. Same official pulls his red card from his shirt pocket and begins to award it to the NK defender
4. Luthman goes on a rampage on the sideline, near the offense (about 15 yards from where the official is standing on the field)
5. The official gingery walks over to Luthman and has a discussion with the screaming coach
5. Moments later, that same official waves off the red card, waves off the penalty kick, then awards a direct kick to New Knoxville!
Who says you can't change a referee's mind? Luthman sure can, especially in the 45871 zip code!

Please tell me you wouldn't be very upset getting thrown out of your last game on a complete blown call in the box on a break away that was likely a goal. Especially when you say something that don't warrant a red card and somehow get a straight red. Personally if it was potentially my last game as a senior and I was the best scoring threat my team had I would be quite upset about the unreasonable call.

Warrior-............ I have no idea who you are but I DO know that we've both heard much worse then "what the hell" on the soccer field. I've played soccer for my whole life and I am a Ref license l and I have NEVER seen a straight red given for those words.
I'm done defending this point. The player lost his cool (as we all do at one time or another) and he should have been cautioned. He is a good person who didn't deserve to see his senior season end because of an Official. End of story.

Please review the game tape, the rule book, and the quote and tell me what the kid did to deserve a straight red. That is all. Didn't say he didn't deserve a caution but the foul was so obvious a blind monkey could have called it. That is all.

According to Earl..."Karma is a very complex Buddhist principle. It’s the totality of a person’s actions which determines the fate of the next stage of their existence.
Do good things and good things happen. Do bad things and bad things happen."
Perhaps this is the red card he deserved for another foul that was more deserving but wasn't awarded at the time? I don't know...just thinking outside the box.

You can say how OG is gonna crush Ottoville all u want but it will never change the fact that Ottoville has knocked u off three years in a row in tournament, AT YOUR HOME FIELD!

its about time someone has told him how it is. DISSENT you also said ottoville was goin to get crushed by kalida and that they were set for doom there too and look what happened... they beat you for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW!!! now they have a chance to be the first to to play play all three game and make it out and if they play like they did in the second half agaist kalida it is very do-able. so why cant you just wish them good luck and quit adding stupid qotes that dont make any sence what so ever. ( P.S. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA )

I did too. I was rather impressed that HS kid would apply Napoleon's address. If some of DISSENT's detractors actually have a shred of intelligence, they would understand that Napoleon gave that speech before being exiled to Elba. Quite applicable as DISSENT's side suffered an unexpected defeat and who's season is over.
I listened to the game and did not watch it, but it sounded like Kalida dominated the run of play but simply couldn't finish, and finishing is what counts.
DISSENT talked smack. He was confident. He expected to win. They had a great season. And they lost. I'm sure his plate is full of crow, but such is life.
