Another player that could be up for POY is Riverdales Keeper Beck. 10 clean sheets this year and the best keeper in northwest ohio by far.. Should be interesting on how the voting goes tomorrow. Good luck to all players in the running!

I was disappointed last year when I didn't see Beck with even a honorable mention. He deserves some league votes for sure and wouldn't call it too unfair to talk about 1st team or POY.

He probably lost all his votes from getting two goals scored on him by Old Fort.

didn't catch that one and highschoolsoccerohio.com reports that game as 7 to 0.

But still exceptional player deserving of credit in MY opinion Billwouldrather.

Not for some time. We like to hold these things off until banquet time so that it's a nice surprise for the players.

Talking about goalkeepers. Not so sure why Fred Freeman isn't in the mix.

Probably because he is not in the NCOSA.

But he is good.

I almost forgot, Beck shouldn't be mentioned if he has played like he did against PG tonight.

I hope he didn't play like that during league games.

I didn't catch the PG game, but I did see the Bluffton game and I thought Beck played exceptionally well; as well as Keller and Shelton. cool.gif

beck had a very good save on a free kick taken by jaden august that was low to the left corner that could of put bluffton up 1-0 in regulation...

I thought both keepers had WONDERFUL saves but since we are talking about NCOSA, focus on Beck. That freekick save was fabulous, plus a one on one that he did not panic on not to mention his on save on the pk's... I know it isn't ncosa but this game shows that beck is a quality keeper, and I know I've been rooting on riverdale this season but i still believe beck deserves some league honors

If Grant wasn't in the discussion, I'd be talking about Keller. I'm not saying Beck for POY, I would just like say.... 1st team? smile.gif

All conference voting results are on "The Courier" website under Blanchard River Buzz. On the left side top click on "2009 Fall Sports All-Conference Teams"

I just cannot fathom on the First Team for Defenders how someone from Ada (4-11-2) or Tiffin is deserving of such recognition. Especially when you have teams with better records than these two teams and they their defenders are getting 2nd Team or Honorable Mention.
