thats true Cavsfan23 but....... if teams like Crestview,Bluffton,LCC only had one or two good players and the rest just average then i would say our right........because each would have carry his own weight........some varsity players on other teams in the NWC wouldn't even start on JV at Crestview.Bluffton and LCC but it's the best they have

My vote is would go to Cheney for POY. First Team IMO would go
Cheney
Goldsberry
Snider
Balliet
Zollars
Deitering
Swaney

...Maybe Linehan, Riley, #4 from Paulding played very well against S-ville and i'm sure it wasn't a lucky thing for him

Pretty good line up there from what i've seen so far

Cavs fan - when you want to see batting averages - consider this. Add .100 points or more to LCC and Paulding players for the schedules they play out of conference. If you look over the NWC team schedules, everyone else generally plays "cupcakes" out of conference with the exception of a game or 2. LCC plays/schedules Elida, Shawnee, St Henry (twice) Coldwater, Wapakoneta, Bath. Paulding does O-G (twice) Celina (twice) Elida (twice) Van Wert, Bryan, Archbold, Shawnee, and Defiance. Not only is the pitching (even the #2 through #4 starters for these teams) better, but they play much better defense. If you truly want to compare BA, I'd like to know what NWC players hit against NWC pitching only.

In the April 29th Cresent News Baseball stats Derek Pease is hitting .491 and Justin Riley .429 for Paulding.

I would say the POY would come down to 3-4 players in cheney, snider, balliet, and zollars. Balliet and Zollars have done what's expected Snider hit Cheney pretty good when they played....Cheney's been dominating the league in pitching so i think it's down to those 4 right now but it could change.

Balliet has 6 homeruns on the year and is pitching very well right now. His batting average is well over .350 with only 3 strikeouts on the year. His on base percentage has to be one of the tops in the league, especially since everyone has been intentionally walking him lately. Zollers has been struggling lately on the mound. He took a bad loss against Van Wert this past week. His bat has not been very great either. When Crestview played Bluffton, Cheney made a case for himself by pitching a great game. I would say that he is not the same all around player that Balliet has been with his hitting, but his pitching can make a great case for POY if he keeps mowing down the conference. Swaney from AE has been playing great ball. I only seen him against C'view, and he pitched a gem. He also seems to be more of a complete player at the plate. Should be a tight race and come down to the final week. Good luck to all. Bluffton is the team to beat.

Swaney is probably not going to be player of the year but he has only 1 strikeout this year it was also called looking because the ball was in the dirt.

god knows the great swaney would never just strike out.

lol no crap. i mean he is a good player and all..and i can see u guys trying to bring allen east back on the baseball map. but come on..maybe it was in the dirt or a bad call..but settle down. he makes my 1st team NWC. he is a good player..but (with no disrespect) not the best player in the league..i think that goes to cheney or balliet.

Swaney is a great player and all but Allen East fans are hyping him up way too much... If anything he is the 5th or 6th best pitcher in the league behind Balliet, Cheney, Zollars, Dietering, Linehan, ect..and hes also a great catcher but Snider is better..Teams just dont straight steal on Snider anymore..Has to be one of the best defensive catchers this area has seen in awhile...Anyways behind the obvious best from teams who will make the all league teams...
Cheney POY (1st team last year as a sophomore)
Balliet (2nd team last year as a junior)
Zollars (2nd team last year as a junior)
Dietering (2nd team last year as a junior)
Snider (Honorable Mention last year as a sophomore)
Swaney (2nd team last year as a junior
Suderman (Honorable mention last year as a junior)
Stoller (2nd team last year as a sophomore)
McCullough (2nd team last year as a sophomore)
Hovest (honorable mention last year as a junior)

Those ten may make first team possibly....who else from Lincolnview, Paulding, ect will make the All League teams?

would not consider balliet as POY. Jefferson rocked him for 8 runs tonight in less than 2 innings. zollers replaced him and shut the Wildcats down before miller threw the final inning. i alos noticed zollers was pinch hit for tonight. is that the norm?

Cheney for bluffton would be my poy..if they win nwc, (which paulding is left on the schedule) it would be blufftons first ever conference title in baseball. And cheney pitched against all the power teams lcc, grove, and crestview and there still undefeated in nwc. also, against lcc he had 141 pitches according to the newspaper!

I agree with Cheney as the POY..Who do you think are the best position players. Cheney is the best pitcher. Snider is the best catcher. Balliet best first basemen, ect

Snider is not the best catcher in the league....Swaney is. Everyone wants to rag on the kid as a pitcher, but he is actually their catcher who "helps" on the mound when his team needs him. Snider would tell you, Swaney is quicker, more athletic, and has a faster "pop to pop". Not to mention Swaney is hitting over .500 and does not have the supporting cast.

Quit hating on the kid and realize he can play. No he does not play on a million dollar diamond and no he does not have all the publicity the Lima schools get. Yes, he is helping build a baseball program at Allen East and has done well. They have gone from the infamous "doormat", to a team that will compete with everyone. But I bet you every coach in the NWC would love to have him as well as Hoy and a couple others. There hasn't been any conference teams even try to steal on him. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ONCE AGAIN, HE IS A CATCHER NOT A PITCHER...BUT A GREAT ATHLETE TO STRIKEOUT 10 CRESTVIEW KNIGHTS IN A ROW, WHEN ASKED TO "FILL IN".

1st base................. Balliet Crestview
2nd base............... Jettinghoff Jefferson
ss......................... Goldsberry Bluffton
3rd base................ Suderman Bluffton
Leftfield................. Girod Lincolnview
Centerfield............. Hoy Allen East
Rightfield................ McCullough LCC
Catcher................. Swaney Allen East
Pitchers................. Cheney Bluffton, Carder Jefferson, Zollars Crestview, Balliet Crestview, Dietering Spencerville.

Well I agree Swaney is good but IMO I think Snider is better...From what I watched....But you have a couple things wrong in your above post...Your outfield is wrong in McCullough playing right field..Haha the kid plays third base...And Suderman is probably better but he's definitly not an outfielder...Also I dont believe Hoy is the best center fielder...Although I dont know very many other center fielders..Other than that it looks good.
