As far as the tournament draw, in past experiences i dont see how it matters a whole lot if ur a 1 or 2 seed...there's no home field advantage if ur a 1 seed cuz either way Kalida has that...the only important seed that matters IMO is #3 seed because they get to choose first where they want to go on the tournament board which will more likely be Miller City...with OG thrown in the mix this year, i would have to say this is now the toughest sectional in the area or possibly the state in D3
No object is mysterious. The mystery is your eye.

Mysterio:

I must have really hit a nerve with you?! So, in order to answer the novel you wrote above, here goes:

1. Yes, Ottoville is down this year, both by having more youth & key injuries
2. Yes, they beat us last the two years running at sectionals
3. Yes, OG plays a more "physical" style of play against anyone who actually plays "soccer" against them (referring to our game with them last year)
4. Men's teams (i.e., those who have played above the average high school level): Kalida (last several years), Miller City (at times), Ottoville (last few years), Ft. Jennings (several years ago).
5. Yes, this is high school soccer

Mysterio, I just acknowledged most, if not all of your points. Do you feel better now?

"Good luck in the tournament?" Some teams need more than others (that oughta get you wound up) furious.gif

My sectional draw pick remains unchanged:

Seed #1 Kalida (11-1-2)
Seed #2 Ottawa Glandorf (10-2-2)
Seed #3 Miller City (11-2-1)
Seed #4 Ottoville ( 8-4-1)
Seed #5 Continental ( ?-?-?)
Seed #6 Fort Jennings ( 3-9-0)

Miller City could arguably contend for the 2nd seed with OG.

Here are my predictions for the pairings for tomorrow:

Top of Bracket:
Ottoville vs. Continental [Winner plays Kalida]

Bottom of Bracket:
Miller City vs. Ft. Jennings [Winner plays OG]

Finals:
Winner of Top Bracket vs. Winner of Bottom Bracket

laugh.gif Well said Mysterio....DISSENT so my question is what teams are u referring to that need the luck this year more than others?? all but Kalida? if anything id say ur wildcats would be thrown into that mix as i recall and will continue to do so until u start to face the facts that ur wildcats havent been able to get out of ur own sectional the last two years when they have been the clear favorites even...personally id like to see that sectional be moved to a more neutral site

anyways like mysterio said there are no mens teams in high school soccer you are all apart of a high school boys soccer team and no need to compare to say who is a man and who isnt...what im trying to understand is when are you going to just stop and play soccer...ive seen threads that u post from last year and this year and look where that got ya at least last year...if ur team is good and succeeding this year, which i believe once again they are, then just let it be and dont come on here and say that ur team is more manly than others and also say that certain teams out there dont have a prayer against another team...every team out there is all playing high school level of soccer i mean thats what ur playin right? now if u get better obviously and take things to the next level then u r obviously playing collegiete level of soccer and so fourth...besides id say that the rest of the county teams have had some good success the last severeal years...Miller City, FJ, and Ottoville has had some good teams even back in 02-03 seasons and even up until now...i remember a good Kalida team that was ranked #3 in the state during the 03 season and getting knocked off by none other than Ottoville which no one thought had a chance of winning that game

Either way DISSENT i have all the respect for u and the Kalida Wildcats soccer team! just realize some of the things u r saying just let ur team play the game and if ur wildcats end up going all the way this year then come on here and say that ur team is better which then they will be...No hard feelings DISSENT good luck to ur wildcats and the rest of the county teams, when it comes to tournament every team out there needs a little luck even ur Wildcats

Yes, indeed the Kalida boys have done a great job recovering after all the seniors that left the team although they had young talent on the team which then took over this season.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the Ottawa-Glandorf vs. Kalida match-up today!

So, who is predicting an Ottoville surprise at Sectionals this year?

I don't see Ottoville having enough fire power this year. NO 3 peat for Ottoville getting out of Kalida. After watching the Kalida / Ottawa game last nite, it looks like OG laying low. Will they keep Kalida from getting off their field again this year ?

Why would anyone "lay low"? Soccer isn't like football. It's one thing if a team didn't show a new set piece play or rested some key players, but I doubt that either team would do that. Do you see any Kalida or OG players NOT giving 100% in that rivalry? HS soccer is not world cup qualifying....

I would be very surprised if Kalida and OG don't meet again on Thurs...but the better teams don't always win the game in tourney play.

Teddy, don't be offended! Everyone knows who the "boys'" teams and the "mens'" teams are around here. sarcasm.gif

Now, regarding Ottoville. Did I see them "whoop" up on anyone lately? I mean, anyone? Our problem (Kalida) with Ottoville is simple -- their coach doesn't mind losing to us during the season. He simply treats that game as a "study session" for the tournament game. However, if we get top seed, then we will probably see Ottoville after they play Continental. Or, if some of you are right and OG gets the top seed, Ottoville doesn't have a prayer of getting through OG! That game will resemble a boxing.gif cage fight boxing.gif , and as of now, I think OG will thump Ottoville.
