The following is based on if all wrestlers return.
Have not included incoming freshman.

NWC
2009 NWC Tournament Results / Returning Incoming Grade Wrestlers

2009 NWC League Tourny Scores/Varsity Incoming Grade & Sr’s Lost
1. Allen East 360.5 2 –Soph / 3 - JR / 1 – SR 7 lost
2. Spencerville 271.0 4 – Soph / 1 – JR / 3 – SR 4 lost
3. Bluffton 234.0 1 – Soph / 6 – JR / 4 – SR 2 lost
4. Paulding 201.0 5 – Soph / 2 – JR / 2 – SR 4 lost
5. Columbus Grove 175.0 3 – Soph / 4 – JR / 2 – SR 1 lost
6. Lima Cent. Cath. 139.0 1 – Soph / 2 – JR / 5 – SR 0 lost
7. Jefferson 135.0 5 – Soph / 4 – JR / 2 – SR 2 lost
8. Lincolnview 132.0 3 – Soph / 2 – JR / 3 – SR 3 lost

Some to watch for
Allen East- Grant Dues and Colt Lovejoy.
Spencerville – Alex Stanfield, Logan Binion, Cory Rieman and top state ranked Tyler Obringer.
Bluffton – Chase Kuhlman, Dustin Brinman and top ranked Tyler Rayle.
Paulding – Tyler Rorhs, Jared Deatrick and Drey Gamble
Columbus Grove – Cory Brinkman, Alex Nichols, Gavin Windau and Alex Cavelage.
LCC – Cody and Cory Hahn, TylerTschour, Anthony McCormick and Anthony Paterson. Sleeper here can be David Gremling.
Jefferson – Joy Lindeman, Cade Bevington and Curtis Miller (possible 3X State Placer).
Lincolnview – Chris Boroff, Levi Brake.

As you see it will be a task for Allen East to pull off the NWC with all they lost. Abbey will look forward to the challenge. A team to watch that is returning a lot of placement points is LCC. They have a great looking Senior Class with a couple outstanding young ones as well. This year the league is up for grabs more than it has been for awhile.
You have a couple potential state champs and a couple possible multi state qualifiers in the league.

Matfan who is L.L.C. laugh.gif

Jefferson placed dead last last year and they lost Miller to Graduation. Who do they got coming in that makes you think they will be placing better this year?

Top 4???? In no order....
Spencerville, Bluffton, and I am going to say Allen East only because there coach is so tough. As for the 4th team I think it's up for grabs.

Jeffersom might of placed last last year but should have a great team comming up. A lot of good solid Sophmors this year that will turn out good! Curtis Miller ( a sophmore) should win alott at 190? and Freshman Qiunten Wessell ( at 215) can werestle and both of these kids have wrestled for 9 years now. Coach Rex and Coach Machelroy and Coach Miller should have these young kids ready to go! and look for good thigns in the next 2 years.

I think groves brinkman can beat out miller. And there is a big step up from jr high especially in the jr sr dominating upper weight classes

From the spelling I take it you are one of the incoming freshmen on the team. Good luck to you this year!

I believe Bluffton will come out on top of the NWC with a suprise LCC team as a close second. Taz posted some interesting stats above and LCC does have a very talented senior class and Taz's suprise wrestler Gremling won't be a suprise for that long, also watch out for their incoming 103 lb wrestler he will be the best in the NWC.

As for Jefferson really besides Miller they may not have any other guy that can get out of sectionals.

I was refering to the next couple of years! as far as jefferson being an overall good team. No one thinks that a freshman will dominate at 215. But you might be suprised his junior and senior year. They have allot of Young tallent, need allot of growing up.

So I go into the office to pick up a few things and there is a Spencerville wrestling roster on my desk. Lists 21 kids for 2009-10 from 103 through 215. Tyler Obringer isn't on the roster. Is he not out for wrestling this season? Can any one from Bearcat country confirm?

Coach B- I don't have an answer for you but I cannot picture Tyler not wrestling. Tyler was at the scrimmage with LCC /Spencerville/Shawnee and Lima Sr.

Slice - I think your thinking of Miller again from Del Jefferson!! -LOL

Yeah it's all quite odd...I thought there was a chance he was concentrating on his future as a D-I football player. We'll find out soon enough I guess.
Let's just say I was a little shocked not to see his name on the roster.

Unless something has changed real recently...yes he is wrestling. Talked with him for awhile at Alpha weight before Thanksgiving. He is real anxious in going for a State Title.

Now that we are approaching the Christmas break and have had an opportunity to see all the NWC teams wrestle, I feel as if some teams have established themselves as the favorites for the league title. Allen East would have to be the frontrunner with Bluffton and Spencerville fighting for second, I think LCC will be in the hunt for a top spot finish. Grove will finish in the middle of the pack and Jefferson, Paulding and Lincolnview will bring up the rear. How does this sound to everyone else?
