I agree with runsfar....C'view did not loose the game. Jefferson just decided to win it in the bottom of the 7th. The coaching was good, the pitching was good, the defense was good, and the bats where good. Everything fell into place for Jefferson in the end. Tough circumstances for the Crestview kids in the end. The only thing that might have been done differenty was to leave Balliet in. He was in a groove, but Jefferson had seen him 3 times each. Going to a first team all-confernce senior seemed like a great idea at the time. Great game. Good luck to Jefferson in the rest of the tournament.

I think this may have been Coach Whartons best coaching job. He went 19-3 for the season, undefeated in conference play and was ahead of a good 10 senior Jefferson team for 13 of the 14 innings. He did all this with 3 sophomores 3 juniors and 4 seniors. He coached up a good sophomore rookie catcher which is so important for a team. He got one win by getting runs off 2 squeeze bunts in the same game when he trailed by a run to the team that ended up tying for second in the division. Really very pleased with the job he did this year. Thought he deserved the "Coach of the year" award he got from the conference.

You beat New Knoxville and New Bremen. I'll give you a virtual thumbs up for that.

I know niether team pitched their ace tonight, but Coldwater rolled over Jefferson, 9-1.

Coldwater is a very good team they will pry win state in D 3 it wasn't a comment to slam the MAC in was a commented to get the people from crestview to realize that they were both really talented teams.

You would think that someone who claims to have so much knowledge about small school baseball would have at least heard about a team that has won the state title four times this decade and been runner up twice. When you add the fact that they have been beaten in the other years by a team whop played in the final four i would call that a dynasty at the least and a monopoly at the best on small school baseball. No kidding Patrick Henry won last year who won in 2002-2004 and again in 2006? Everyone who knows anything about division IV baseball can answer that question. Anyone who knows alittle has heard of the teams who sit at the top of the rankings each year. You are in the minority who feel Jefferson is the favorite because they beat crestview. The state final will more than likely be Patrick Henry/Toledo Christian winner vs Toronto/ Newark Catholic winner.

Hmmm...... Your a division 4 school in a community that large and your a Catholic school right?

I have actually seen Patrick Henry play, and I really do not think that they are all that great. They are definately an above average team, but I think Jefferson is better than them. PH does not have any pitching from what I can see. I cannot say much about TC, Toronto, or NC.

Gotch ya. CW has a tall task ahead of them yet. Tinora poses a threat today and the State title runs through Hamilton Badin. Hopefully the rain holds off in Elida and the games get played today. Good luck to DJ the rest of the way!

No Crestview in this regional? Only stopper until a state title? The sad part is you have an inflated view of Crestview not Jefferson. It is not a curse they just lose to better teams

What is a school from a town as large as yours ldoing in division 4? Where do your players come from?

Congratulations to both squads for an outstanding season. Obviously they are very even. Glad Jefferson won but, they lose everyone and Crestview returns a good core.
