The weather is beautiful and it's time for Track talk. Who are the pretenders and the contenders. Who are the freshman to watch out for.

Three things I know for sure: Mary Bevington will win the long jump and 100m hurdles, and the St. Johns strinters are still the fastest in the league and Taylor Jones will dominate the 400m. Why does Bevington not run the 300m hurdles? The distance races are a coin toss between four or five girls.

I'm fairly certain that Marian Bevington doesn't run the 300s because it is a difficult race. However, sometimes a coaches decision not to run her there may be for the sake of relays she may be on,....who knows. The MAC produces some fine athletes no doubt...and she is certainly one of em.

What happen to Mary Prakel at Minster? Last years state champ was defeated in the 1600m. Lei Barnhorst showed everyone who the boss was in the 3200m. The freshman from Spencerville Kelli Ley is very special but her coaches are running her to death.

Surprisingly enough, Mary Prakel is indeed a human. She had a bad day at Minster, she'll be just fine.
