Have been talked to.....Ada youth program is starting to take off with quite a few good young wrestlers. Don't hold me to it, but think they have something like 30-35 kids on the youth team ages 5-12. Would love to see Ada BOE sanction the start up of a jr high prgram next year or year after and get the ball rolling. Sorry for posting on this thread about youth team but wasn't sure where to put it.

Oh almost forgot....CONGRATS TO AE MUSTANGS in bringing home the championship trophy...Good Job

Took the drive down route 66 to watch a little wrestling at the NWC Championships. What a refreshing event to watch. Parents actually cheering for the other kids on the team. Nobody talking badly about the coaches. Everyone coming together as one, when one of their own was on the mat. Why is this? How come it can not be that way in team sports. These young men are disciplined and put in the work! Congratulations to every participant and every coach and parent. You should be proud no matter where you finished. YOU COMPETED!!

I think this is just the way it is in the NWC. Many of the teams are like familys. I have noticed with other schools outside the NWC that once a wrestler is out they leave. Not so in the NWC. Parents stay till the last wrestler is done. Right up to the pictures and rewards. Other sports have teams, in Wrestling it becomes a family.

The NWC has always been a close knit bunch; however there are changes happening within the WBL also. The parents and kids are standing together...I just wish everyone would have stayed for the Heavy Weigh match on Saturday at Wapak.

Wrestling in this area has been good for quite a while but seems to be getting way better as of late!

Congrats to the Mustangs. I remember when they first started their program maybe 10 years ago and our JV's wrestled their rag-tag bunch back then in that first year and they had maybe three guys who didn't make weight because they really didn't understand the concept. My, what hard work, enthusiasm and coaching can bring about.
Outstanding.
